Riding the bike home tonight, i noticed it was smoking badly , although the weather was and wet this was bad, and not right. I checked the oil level window and the oil was ok BUT looked like it was over filled. I did top it up last weekend but looks like i have over filled it to the exstent when i reved the bike the level just crept past the upper part of the window. Will this cause the exhaust to smoke badly?

Bike is runnign fine wioth out any loss of power etc.

Maybe, maybe not. Generally if it is just past the window when the bikes level then its unlikely to have any effect. Best way find out is to just drain some out.

With the cold and damp conditions we have at the moment its not unusual to have a fair bit of water vapour coming out the exhaust, how far are you riding?

4 miles isn't that far really if theres a bit of condensation in the exhaust and gearbox. Is the vapour white or blue/white? Any smell?

Obviously I haven't seen it but I don't think its overfilled to the point of having to drain it.

Not very technical but hey..... When you get to work put your hand over the end of the exhaust, remember its hot Wink . Take a look at your hand, and give it a sniff. You'll know if it oil or water.

Yup, my bike billows steam if I've left it out in the rain, it comes out of every nook and cranny.

Looks quite cool when I pull away... Whispy cloud of smoke, and all that.
