After I get my full A2 license (hopefully by new year) I will be riding a cbr600 hopefuly (after being restricted).
Now I've been looking at this particular CBR600F on ebay. It's reserve is 1200 quid and buy it not price is 1450. It's a p reg and has done 28k miles. It's a '96 model.
Only bad bits are, a few light scratches which are hard to notice, and 2 cracks. It also needs a new left wing mirror. Apart from that the bike looks superb.
Another bad thing is that I can't view the bike as it's too far away. But the seller can have it delivered for about 150 quid.
I'm just wondering if the CBR is worth it for that price. It has an MOT till April '07 aswell. Not sure if it has tax though.

Also, I've made my mind up that I'm definately getting a CBR600F, in black and silver. Reason is because I have a black and silver bike jacket which says HONDA and CBR. Besides, I like them lots.
Also, any hints on the bike and whatnot.
I got my theory booked for the 23rd of November and will sort out a practical once I pass the theory. Hopefully. |

Yeah, I crashed mine once but that was just going too fast into a bend on an unfamiliar road.
Anyone who's got one or had one will tell you that they are good, solid bikes and an ideal first big bike. The engine is bulletproof and parts are easy to come by (ebay especially).

Time to ring my dad and ask for an 18th birthday present. It's only a few weeks away.
Can't wait till I get off the 125 and onto the CBR...
Should be fun |

Don't say the curse!
I was so looking forward to it....
But I have to go somewhere to de-restrict it so I might check it out when I get to a place to do it....
Mind you it will still be alot faster than my 125 |

My last bike was a naked NSR and when I got on the CBR it felt really weird when you turned as the fairing stayed put. I know that is obvious but I'd never been on a faired bike before!!
Top speed will only be about 140 but you'll want to be taking it easy anyway, while you get used to it.
I think you'll be pleased with it. ____________________ Bikes are an addiction for which there's no rehab!! |

And another question.
I want the bike to be in silver and blakc but it's hard to find them in that colour. I've only seen 5 so far
So basically, I'm asking if it would be wise to buy any otehr CBR600F and get the fairings in that colour or whatever to get it in the black/silver paintjob. Would it cost alot more or would it be ok? |

Never buy a bike without looking at it 1st..Thats the 1st rule.
Most people who are selling a bike or car always "write" the vehicle up by saying how good it is.
They might be right, but i never trust what people say all the time about their vehicle without checking it out 1st.
Just a friendly piece of advice.

Need to get used to it.
Actually, the bike I was talking about could do 160MPH accoprding to the seller. |
95 should be fast enough fella, take it this way if ur gonna have fun on the bike down the back roads youll never realy stay at 95mph for that long coz theres gonna be a corner to brake/change gear for soon so i wouldnt worry about top speed, my cb does 120 flat out, ive only done that speed a few times, once while i was chasing a bently gt on the A15 which absolutely fucking owned me lol.
plus u only get 6 points on your licence untill your 2 year period is up. |
Yeah I do think it's fast enough. But I'd say after a year I'd want to go faster. But I'd be happier with a bigger bike anyhow. I just want some faster acceleration. Top speed I'll handle later. I want good acceleration and hopefully learn to wheelie. And I want to be able to get my knee down ocne I get some leather trousers and some knee sliders. The lowest I can get on my 125 is when the footpeg scrapes and that happens much too often

Baz. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up |
I wasn't sure on the bike much either considering I couldn't see the bike. And I couldn't have bought it anyways since I didn't, and currently don't, have the cash for it just yet.
And thanks.
I've gotten into my friends bad habit. but it's even worse.
Been looking at things to buy for it after I get it and get some experience on it. I even saw a 2 exhausts system for it for 195 and really want to buy it. but considering I'm restricted to 33BHP and I think it wouldn't do the engine much good with the restriction...
But I don't know much about biks yet.
When I do get the CBR I'll tear down my little chinese thing and hopefully learn about bikes and make it roadworthy. Properly. ____________________ '99 Hornet 600 , VFR 400 NC30 '92 , Kasawamasaki GT 550 , '98 Hornet 600

I would go to a dealer for a first bike least then you have some sort of gaurantee (speelcheck not working tis now ) for the first month, depending on where you go!
You also won't know its true condition until you see it for yourself so unless you can veiw it in person before handing over any money i wouldn't purchase it in this way. Alot of money to go down the drain...
Good luck with your bike hunt ____________________ I have wandered all my life, and I have traveled; the difference between the two is this -- we wander for distraction, but we travel for fulfillment.
