Zoom 505 II's are dirt cheap but you can get decent enough sounds on them. Exactly what i was using. I think i'm going to spend a little bit of money and get a half-decent amp. I'd LOVE a Mesa Boogie, Dual rectifier, but peavey stuff ain't too bad. I don't really like marshall sounds.

Don't know much about guitar sby the way, Might aswell wear learner plates while practising on my guitar Rolling Eyes

Hopefully I'll be able to play guitar solos later on.

Oh and my friend Matt is an absolute Legend on his guitars. He's palying a gig right now actually which I'm missing...

Next time I'll record him and put him up. He is amazing at guitars.

Is that Seymour duncan invader in that SG?

Lovely pups they are, although the cheaper "duncan designed" ones aren't as nice.. they lack the growling balls you get from the 'proper' invader.

I've got some Active benedetti pickups in my Vigier. Fantastic guitar that is.. i'll try and get some snaps up.

Gosh invaders. Those ring a bell. I was tempted to stick em on my ibanez beacuse Tom Delonge from Blink 182 had them on his guitar. The 'buckers on my ibanez are OK, but sound limp in comparison to Dimarzio PAFs or EMG's be it 81/85's or even the HZ's.

I think the secret of a good tone on a guitar would be selecting the right pickups and playing it through the right amp. Obviously, if you're technique ain't particularly good, it won't make much difference.

The same lick played through a Mesa Dual rectifier, even a peavey XXL sounds completely different to what i normally play through Shocked

In my Les paul i've got a duncan jeff beck in the bridge and a Jazz in the neck. Best pickup collaboration i've come across.

Used to have an ESP m-1000 with the EMG 81/85 combo.. that was awesome. But got rid of that for the vigier.

I echo the comments about a good amp.

A great player can sound good in a bad amp, but a bad player can sound much much better through a great amp. Used to use the marshall AVT's most of the time, before moving onto an old school marshall DSL.

Edit: Pictures of my guitars whilst I remember.

My Vigier Passion (Which might possibly be for sale soon).

Got a carbon fibre neck, ebony fretboard, Kahler locking bridge and nut and those benedetti active pickups I mentioned earlier:
https://premium.uploadit.org/LewisDocherty/Vig1s.JPG

Then my Les paul.

This is a custom job, with a lovely honey blonde AAA birds-eye maple top. With the Seymour duncan Jeff beck and jazz pickups (Think this might've been taken before the jazz was put in). Lovely locking Schaller tuners too.
This - whilst not as exotic as my vigier - is my workhorse guitar, Play it more than any guitar I've ever owned. Great tone, easy to play and looks gawgjus! Very Happy
