The sun was out earlier and I gotta admit, it was the first time Ive really opened up the throttle on my derestricted NSR since I got it back on the weekend. On 2 different occasions, both at lights, I had Mr 'look at me i've got a BMW' trying to show off. First time was a new shape convertible 323i, he floored it through the first 3 gears and I left him, pissed myself laughing! Then I came up against Mr 'look at me ive got a BMW' number 2 in his new Z3, again I passed him as if he was parked! Damn I love that feeling!! Twisted Evil

Which brings me onto the question... whats the fastest car you lot have beaten on your bikes? And i dont wanna hear about your everyday novas and saxos!

IMO most races when its with a powerful car tend to be to the point of who is willing to risk the most not whose veichle is the most powerful

Not sure what the fastest one I've beaten is to be honest as I've not really raced many proper cars Smile

A porka 911. But then the rusty H reg fiesta next to me also beat it, so I suppose he might not of been trying...

Mind you he was doing a ton 30 when he overtook me. (I was doing 90) so I floored it, but still didnt catch him!!! Embarassed

However, I did have a good go with a Ferrari testorossa. and won. Twisted Evil

Depends over what distance you want to race him mate, his top speed will be more than yours so if its a long distance he'll catch you after you initally pull away and leave you.

Be warned - remember its only a 125, get a 600 then just obliterate him and not pass 3rd gear Twisted Evil
(obviously you'll have to pass your test bribe and insurance company etc Laughing )

A full power 125 can do (and i regually do) elises, V6 3.0L rep cars, clio sports.

Met my match last week with a Evo. Crying or Very sad

Remember, most of the time cars arnt trying.

Most cars won't even think about racing me Sad
Still, I had a great blast down the A4 from Newbury to Hungerford, playing with one of the guys I work with who drive an Impretza WRX. I let him think he was doing well for about 2 miles, the I just dropped it a gear and used more than the 1/2 throttle I had been using Twisted Evil
When we got the the petrol station in Hungerford his comment was 'fuck me, I was doing 130 and you came past like I was going backwards!'. Damn I love my bike Very Happy

Does anybody on the forum actually own a real bike or do you all have sporty mopeds (NSRs)?

Hardest race I've ever had is down the M4 on my Firestorm (NO, it's not a sporty moped you f-cking stonehead) with a pillion against one of them Lexus thingies, not sure what engine it was but probably 3-4 litre or summat. Doing about 120, I come up alongside him and he puts his foot down, I then proceed to drop a gear and throttle it, it's neck and neck all the way up to 150-160 then some traffic slows him down. I continue at 150 past the traffic waving goodbye so I guess I won, but it was *very* close Very Happy

I wish I had the aerodynamics of one of them cars, bikes are so not good at high speed roll-on races.

As for standing start races, don't make me laugh, there are only a couple of *very* expensive cars that can keep up with me (and every other 600-1000cc bike) to 100mph Very Happy

Not had a decent race against a fast car yet but did make myself giggle on the weekend.

Had my mate on the back and we went for a ride. Coming back this bright purple Pug 306 convertible (with the biggest and loudest exhaust you have EVER heard) is ahead of me. Anyway there's this road near us which is basically a 2-mile almost straight road which starts off as quite a steep hill. Coming off the roundabout onto this hill I'm right up this car's arse as the car is wheelspinning the lot (obviously trying - there was a girlie in the car).

Up the hill we go and bye bye car! Looked round as I crested the hill at 130 and he was nowhere to be seen Very Happy

God I love my bike Very Happy

I've currently got an R1 and before that a ZX7. I have read some of the other pages before and am aware that some of you do have real bikes, in most cases very nice real bikes. It just amused me when some people were talking about racing on a NSR.

Sorry if I offended any of you.

NSR will still take *most* cars under £20k ish to 60mph IMO. AFter that a most cars will keep going a bit fast than the NSR

I had a lot more fun beating cars on my L'Plated semi restricted NSR than I ever have on any of the 600cc+ bikes I've had.

To start with cars rarely try with bigger bikes.
Also amuses me beating boy racers in a scrappy old black thing with L-plates on... only car that ever got me on acceleration was a BMW-M3... and not by much either, though I gave up at the point he must have been 70-80+ in a 40 in rushhour.

Went past him at the next traffic light cue of course Smile

R1 eh? Lurvley bike Smile

No offence taken at all, the reason there are quite a few members on here with NSR's is because this used to be the old chat forum for NSR125.com then quite a few people decided to take their tests and get bigger bikes. We have people with all sorts of bikes who come on here from ZX12r's to R6's to 50cc Mopeds, its pretty varied and although we like to have a bitch on here every now and again its a pretty close community typre atmosphere on here. A lot better than visordown and the like IMO.
