car insurance groups

got my theory on the 6 dec then going to book my test (car), been looking around at the little 1.1's and 1.2's. does anyone know where i can get a list of the car models and what insurance group they go into so i can see whats best to get. just want a cheap run a round really money go on my bike as cars are shite Very Happy

the pug 106 seem to be the cheapest to pick up and mayeb insure?

Diesel, 5 door and being family oriented will all contribute to low insurance aswell as the cars group.

I avoided the 'typical' young person small cars and actually paid less on a 1.9TD 5 door family saloon than I would have on a 1.2 clio or similar, and for the money had a better, faster, more reliable car.

www.parkers.co.uk is usually helpful. I found a fiat chinquento or whatever it is and fit panda to be cheapest insurance wise.

EDIT: FIAT panda, not a FIT panda as that would be highly amusing but a little dangerous.
