Ah. Id forgott Id posted that...
I did look though - thanks.

I dont know exactly what I am after yet.
I want to uprate the suspension, but because its a Jap import, Ive heard its not trivial. Honda, for example, dont sell different springs/shocks for this bike - so Ive been told. I need someone with a clue to look at the bike and see whats easiest & cheapest.
I need to take a look at perhaps derestricting the air intake - which probably means re-jetting. Again, apparently the carb is different from UK models. Maybe its easy getting the jets - maybe easier to dump the stock and go for 2nd hand aftermarket carb (ebay). These are all questions someone with some uk Honda XR knowledge could answer. I cant.

There is at least 1 thing I know I want:
I want to get a rear luggage rack for the XR. I have seen a couple around on XR's - on the street and on ebay. Dont know where to get them though.

Cheers.

Is this for using the bike off road?

If so, have you found yourself needing more power or better suspension?

Jap import XR250L (XR250 with electric start) I assume? Aftermarket rear shock and you may need to get the seat changed as well if its had all the foam taken out of it to allow for jap midgets. Derestricting the air intake, rejetting or swapping the carb are all un-necessary.

Rear luggage rack, don't know, but try asking those you see with luggage racks where they got them from. Wink

I plan to use it both on and off road. That said, I am happy for it to be more off-road biased.

Have I found it to be wanting in power? No, not really. Not yet. Thats why its only a 250 Smile. To be honest, de-restricting it isnt a priority.

Have I found it to be wanting in suspension - yeah. I can bottom it out easily.

Roger that.

Seat is pretty ok - its already an aftermarket (Blackbird racing). Perhaps it could be taller...

Fair enough. I thought the japanese models were pretty restricted...

Haha, I would mate if they were with their bike Smile. I am guessing most wont know - they just bought it with.... But yeah, you are right- it thats what I have to do, i will ask them.

Thanks.
