My rant for today!
Anyone else struggling with this?
I understand the point fully, but IMO its being blown way out of poportion.
We get minors in the pub, which we do ask for ID ect ect which I agree to.
However 3 times this morning I got asked ID for tobacco
One comment was 'my hat makes me look 16' ppfftt
I certanly do not, Ive never been asked in my life in a pub/club for ID for booze yet im being asked for ID for fags?
Im 23, I look 23/24ish im 5'11 so im not a shorty so why?
Im getting sooooo peed off with it. I dont hardly carry anything with me (I loose it) cept my bank card.
So, any elders been asked?
Oh another point, a 40 y/o got asked for ID for a club in southsea, had grey hair the lot. Made the papers quite a bit here |

I'm 25 and still get ID'd for clubs and alcohol. Can't comment on the cigarettes as I don't smoke. I just take it as a compliment.
If you can keep a bank card safe, surely it's not that difficult to keep a driving licence safe, they are the same size and shape after all? ____________________ Like a Yorkie - I'm not for the girls |

I'm 23, far too quickly approaching 24 and get ID'd buying anything and everything (a knife sharpener in Waitrose was my favourite incident this year).
I just carry my driving licence everywhere and get it out ready.
Yes, I find it annoying, especially when it's a middle aged woman who can't add up (visibly see them counting up from 1983 on their fingers).
We fresh faced ones should feel lucky we look so young, at least when we're 30, we'll still only look 20 ____________________ Avast! Pirates ahoy!

Well get this!
Yesterday I got ID'd in Wetherspoons.... FOR A HOT CHOCOLATE!!! ____________________ Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it. From an old boys point of view I'd say be grateful, it'll do you a favour when you're older. I used to get ID'd all the time and now I'm older I still only look 21! |

I'm constantly getting IDed for cigarettes here at uni, I don't really mind it but not having shaved for the best part of 3 weeks it's quite funny. Luckily they bend the rules and let us use the KeeleCard as ID as only students get them and it's photo ID.
At Tesco and places I agree with them in principle - I'll take the extra 10 seconds to prove my age if it means the employee won't get fined or fired. When I first turned 18 it was quite fun being IDed knowing I could actually disprove their suspicions. My mate who looks a fair bit younger than me but is a few months older actually gets annoyed when he's not asked for ID. |

I got id'd this year for a bottle of archers in asda. I mean come'on, I look my age (or maybe slightly older first thing ) I had the weekly shop on the conveyor also, which included 2 packs of nappies and a ton of food.
She was really embarrassed, but i found it quite funny, wouldn't have though if i hadn't got my d/v license with me. |

I don't really mind being asked for ID as I take it as a compliment. The funniest thing I ever got ID'd for was a glass of coke the black stuff not the white!
I produced my ID and then got an apology as well.
It was very strange. ____________________ Bikes: Honda CBR250RR [sold], Yamaha FZR600 [sold], Honda CBR600RR6 |

I was really offended at the weekend, went out for a drink and had to que to get into this pub cos they were checking everyones id to make sure they were over 21, and they just let me straight in, no questions But then I am 35 so maybe that had something to do with it |

On another note, I have never been asked for ID when out drinking
It's a strange world. |

I barely ever get asked for ID. In the past year and 6 months I've only ever been asked twice, once was in a offie where the guy started getting suspicous and the other time was a week ago in morrisons at 8am buying spirits |

The bikes dont help, some people are naturally muppets and are going to ask you.
The first thing in one shop was that they saw me looking at beers for 5 mins trying to make my decision, then when i went up to the counter asked me for id, even though im 20 they still wouldnt serve me. What makes it works is that the person at the checkout was only 17
The second time in the same shop I pulled up on my zx7r in full leathers at 8am and still got id'ed for fags after she said she saw me pull up on my bike, after a few comments i walked out.
Needless to say i havent been in there since(im not a morning person!) |
