Just saying hallo, I've got my practical in a few weeks and I've been looking around the web for advice and cheap 600's, which is how I found this mighty fine forum. I'll probably be posting loads of noob questions in the near future, so be gentle eh? Wink

Allo matey, and welcome aboard!

I'm afraid that this weekend will be a bit quiet, as we are off to the RnB show.

Feel free to post any questions you like, but PLEASE check the FAQ's and search the forum first cos most things have prolly been answered already.

Oh, and please don't feed Scotty.

I don't have a ride yet either, but in the past I've had an MB5 and a GT185, and never really bothered with either of em, just arsed about as teenagers do. Now I'm serious (ooer) and I'm thinking more of a CBR600. Am I right in thinking this used to be an NSR forum? Lots of the little blighters around here, one of the guys at my bike school just bought one. They're nice, but imo 125's are far too expensive for what they are, I'd rather pay a tad more and get something that's going to do me for a few years and depreciate less in the meantime because it's older to start with. Or am I getting ahead of myself? After whamming down the east lancs on my hired CB500 I definitely want something with a fairing.

ps hi2u2 Smile

oh go for a 600+ certainly, although if you've not been riding for a while unfaired has its advantages, or half faired like a suzi bandit S.

125s are silly little things, leave them to learners.

I'm in Widnes, that crappy little wart on the arse of Liverpool. Used the East Lancs to zip up to Rivington Barn (near Bolton, I think Embarassed )a few times on lessons, some cool roads up there, just wish I had the skill to make the most of em atm. As it is I tend to crap out into bends and then curse myself as a chicken as I grab handfuls on the way out. Agree about the 125's, the relief of getting onto the 500's was amazing after being shaken to bits on a screaming CG for weeks.

Ahh right mate - Rivington is great but I do the same as you - wimpy in and all macho out of the bend!!! LOL

One day I'll get the courage to get my knee down too - it comes with time and too be honest I don't get to ride anywhere near as often as I should or want to!!!

welcome matey!

not all of us are at RnB but BdB most will be there. erm you want a bike with fairing get a 400 as they're are best 1st bikes you can get really and you can pick them up for around grand or grand an half and they can keep up with the big 1000cc bikes aswell
