Just noticed my hair is all wavy and at the back there are like lumps formed.. (am still talkin on head) .. I think they get formed when i turn my head to check blind spots.
Any ideas?
Would balacavas help solve this problem?
TIA!

skinhead? I had one when i was 17/18 and I miss the convenience, great for under a helmet. You might find you need to buy a smaller lid though
Its probably the hair thats sticking out the bottom of the helmet thats being knotted up by the wind. I have long hair which I tie back and on long rides the pony tail gets knotted.
Change hairstyle? get it shaved at the back, or yeah I bet a balaclava would stop it but its a bit of a hassle... ____________________ "he who makes a beast of himself gets rid of the pain of being a man"- Dr. Johnson |

I can sympathise, the other day i chipped my nail varnish with these damn gloves. And these modern sports bikes have absolutely nowhere to store my make-up bag. |

Helmet hair
A balaclava just moulds the hair slightly different.
People at work always knew when I had come on the bike as it never had any wax in it and was as fluffy as a new born lamb ____________________ Current : MSX 125 Past : CBR 900RR Monkeybike : c50 LAC : ZXR750 H2 : FZR600 : ZX7R P3 : YW100 : TRX850: Trophy 900 T309 : GSXR 600 L0: Monkeybike : XJ6S Whosthedaddy |

The day I bought my first helmet, I had all my long hair chopped off. Big mistake... two months on I still hate it. It's just as hard to manage a helmet-ruffled bob as it is long hair which I could have tied back and covered with a scarf.
Incidentally... can't you get those silky cover thingies which you put over your head first, before you put your lid on, and it's supposed to stop your hair from scruffin' up/tangling? Mind you, not sure I'd want to be seen with one on... it sounds a bit like a fake baldy head hat. Wouldn't wanna have an accident with it on |

I had the same problemo as you. The wavy sort of imprint in my hair off of the inside of the helmet.
I now wear a balaclava inside my helmet. This stops that wavy bullshit from happening. When you take off your helmet and balaclava though your hair will be flat, so what I do is just use my hands to go through my hair and 'fluff' it up a bit. I check it in the mirror of the bike to make sure. I always look around first though, to make sure no one sees me looking in my mirror and adjusting my hair!

I Got a number 2 all over when i started my DAS. The helmet hair was a pain but the fact that I was using a bike school helmet meant that my head smelled like other peoples sweat when I was done. I couldn't shower fast enough. Bought my own Shoei pretty fast too
The short hair feels better anyway though. Stays where it's supposed to be. |
