Please read to the end, you will understand.
I wake up and look outside the window. Its early. Too early maybe, but I like it that way. Quiet, with the dry autum leaves on the floor undisturbed. For now.
Soon the sun will rise. The ground will warm and provide me with that bite that I need on the black rubber that connects my armour-clad body to the rough asphalt.
The garage door squeaks open, and I gently wheel my monster out of its kennel into the real world. The suspension stiffens slightly as the cold air bites into the frame. The engine is now gasping for some fuel.
It happens.
With a turn of the key the beast roars to life. A low rumble spells out the need for more fuel, like an addict needs a fix. I welcome it, but only gently; turning the accelerator enough to give the beast a taste of what is to come.
The lid goes down and I set off.
The beast explodes through the gears eating up corner after corner. It always wants more. As the tyres warm the need for a rapid bend is always increasing. The edge of the tyres itch. An itch that will only be satisfied by the cold tearing of tarmac. So I satisfy it.
The end is now in sight, and the beast now feels content, having done its task as explosively as ever.
As I park her in, she whispers with the sounds of settling oils and cooling steel parts contracting. She is now fast asleep.
The hot water from the shower beats down on my back, as I reflect on the journey this day has gifted me.
As I enter the office, I look at all the faces who have endured a 'commute' on the train. Something to which I am completely alien.
The best part: looking at their faces as they wonder how and why a slight smile emerges from the corner of my mouth, as I think of my monster sleeping quietly underground.

The words explosive and content don't sit well together, that's for sure. Content suggests languid ease, like a big booming V-twin.
My daily commute certainly isn't a gift, but it's a darned sight better than going by car or by bus.
Still, pretty good. ____________________ I must not be a troll...

To me it read like an overly descriptive erotic story, based on justifying that getting cold and wet riding a motorbike isn't quite so bad.
I think I could generate a better love story about arriving to work without shivering and dripping wet. In a car. ____________________ Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it. I wake up and look out of the window. It's fucking pissing down and has been all night.
I spend 10 minutes getting my fucking gear on then another 5 unlocking the bitch from gate. Perhaps I should have put the cover on last night...
It happens.
The fucking thing bangs. Then I hear a hissing noise, then it starts. I think to myself, yet again, "I really must get that looked at one day".
I pull out into the road and the back slips out on some squidgy leaves, my arse cheeks nip in.
The road is a complete fucking struggle, massive puddles, traffic, car drivers not able to use the mirrors with the steam and condensation. They look so fucking smug in their warm cars, listening to the radio and smoking a fag.
It has it's fleeting moments, a nice 40mph limit road which has Gatso's at either end.
Then I have to park the old dog up, put the locks on, struggle into work, get my gear off, put it somewhere safe and then nod my head when a colleague says "bit cold for that, innit?"
But I still love it. ____________________ BCF's 6th favourite poster 2009-2010

Awesome use of writing there, you have a true talent mate.
That could be for the next BMW bike ad.
Love the use of animalistic imagery.

Thanks for the complements! I'm flattered!
I just wrote it because I was bored at work and thought I'd just write about something positive. ____________________ Kawasaki ER6n -> Honda CBR600RR -> Honda VTR 1000 -> Moto Guzzi Norge 1200
