any idea what a cat d bandit 1200 on a 54 plate is worth only done 2k miles ? its in 9/10 condition

Yep, in winter bike prices drop a lot. Best wait until spring to sell unless you really need the money now.

Personally I don't believe this is true. Its a bit harder to sell a bike this time of year but it rarely makes them a lot cheaper. The thing is that there are so many people that still believe that prices drop in the winter that its as good a time as any to try and sell. If anything its a good time to get rid of any old bikes you've got since those that brought a new one in summer might want something for the good winter days.

Prices are lower this time of year. It's a buyer's market out of season that's why prices drop. 2 years ago I saw a guy sell a fully roadgoing 'busa with wavey brakes and decent alarm for £2700 - when the average price was closer 4 grand. He needed the money to pay for Christmas. Right this moment I could buy a zx12-r fully sorted genuine 205hp bike ohlins forks £1000 akro system powercommander, cams, head work, carbon inner panels, big pile of spares etc totally mint £3800

No-one is buying this time of year and prices reflect it.

Just a matter of different experiences then.

I seem to do better buying bikes in the spring and I put this down to either someone is selling their winter hack before the tax or MOT runs out or they want something newer and have waited through winter before they sell but can't wait any longer. Theres always going to be the people that urgently need money, but that can be any time of year.

Taking a quick look on Ebay at what prices bikes are selling for around by me and there's not many that seem to be going for much less than they are worth, but maybe thats just up here?
