more for the grin than owt else as im bored!
I figured a master plan for sorting Speed Cameras out (SCameras) and it don't even involve braking the damn things (for saving tax payers money)

i understand they need those there white calibration marks on the road for the boffins to figure what ludicrus speeds your doing when you get your own portrait piccy taken Wink
i also understand that they use them to confirm speeds should there be a dispute...
therefore gentlemen my master plan...

take one transit van with a huge drum of quick drying paint would it be white, black or striped secured in the back with a hole in the floor to allow above mentioned paint to escape Smile
just open a valve to spread your white mess all over them nice white lines thus hiding them and preventing them from being used Twisted Evil i figure it would work...
aparently overlaying images containing the lines from another piccy are illegal as they are classed as tampering of some sort...
so there you go my Scamera master plan... have fun folks Thumbs Up Very Happy

people only destroy Scameras if they've been caught speeding and they want to get rid of the evidence.

by doing what you said it would be pretty pointless, and as already stated it would be stupidly dangerous

I havent done this yet as I cant wheelie Sad

I believe the lines are only there to corroborate the radar.

Personally, I'd have thought a can of line paint (about a tenner in screwfix I think) and adding double the number of lines would be a bit more subtle way.

or just get a can of spray paint, alluminium step ladder. spray the lens.
much cheaper/quicker/easier.

or, a cheapo paintball gun. fun and helpful to the community.

LOL yeh you get linemarking paint in black, couple of quid for a 750ml can, and it dries almost instantly so long as it's not wet.

Then all you need is a nice contractor looking van with beacons (ie mine Mr. Green ) and a nice quiet sunday night Cool

I really like the paintball idea, that could be a heck of alot of fun. How far can a paintball travel from one of those guns?

No idea, but how much fun could you have.. Get a pillion with the gun shoulder straped on, as you approach one on the other side of the road, they cover it in paint.

Only worth destroying the 30mph scameras then as you wouldnt get any other ticket as the Challenger can only reach 35-38mph on road. Wink

Exactly my thoughts ! I quite fancied emptying the contents of the paintball gun at the Arrive Alive van that snapped me last week. If I hit the speed-gun, thats great. But the ones that miss the gun and splat elsewhere IN the van should make an awful mess inside, hopefully covering the asshole operating the speed-gun. The cleaning bill should negate that days profits for them, if not that weeks profits.

Cameras are there for a reason. I think youd feel pretty shitty if you destroyed a camera on your fav road, when the next day an inocent family car was hit by a speeding motorist and caused injurie or death...

Sorry to be a kill joy but just reminding people incase they actually want to do this. Very Happy

Get a folding numberplate Smile

back to my original plan... it was simply to disrupt the course extorsion and not to actually physically vandalize the scamera... although the tank sounds a wicked idea or mabye a JCB?? the back hoe would make mince meat of the yellow box..

i disagree that scameras are all placed in 'accident black spots' why would the robbing bastards place two or three on the same long (unpopulated) stretch of road?? its nice and long no foot traffic.....

soft targets if you ask me.... Thinking
