Hi, anyone know if there are any other shocks I can use on my bike? Cheapest new shock I've found so far is £70, is there anything from a more modern bike that would fit? I don't want to jack the rear or anything, I want to keep it standard looking.

Just checked again on Hondaspares and they charge £10 for delivery so its £80 which is the same as pattern parts. Ebay isn't any cheaper either.

Anyone got a decent 2nd hand one for sale? CB125TDC is the same if anyones got one of them.

Would rather have a pattern one for £80 than one that looks like it's spent 15 years as a ship's anchor regardless of cost. Hate to say it but your being tight Laughing

I've already got one that looks like it's spent 15 years as a ship's anchor Wink

I am being tight but it's got more to do with being sensible. Theres a fair bit to do and I would like to be riding it next year at some point

The way I see it, the easiest way to make a biggish saving on rebuild costs is to try and save money on the most expensive items.

That's the downfall of cheap bikes. Spending £100 on a £5000 bike seems worth it, spending the same on a £300 bike feels like a rip off.

Your only option of a cheaper unit is to keep an eye out on ebay for something. But you'll still pay £20-30 for a usable but tired standard one or £60-100 for a good aftermarket one that will most likely need an expensive rebuild.

In the world of biking £80 for a brand new one is a bargain.

Try this guy https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/honda-ns125r-front-forks-and-yolks-spares-project-nsr_W0QQitemZ230057496376QQihZ013QQcategoryZ10460QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem i doubt it will be great but it might be usable.

It looks like I might as well just get a new one and see where I can save some money elsewhere. Gutted as I could have won a brand new chain and sprocket kit on ebay for about £15 delevered but forgot to bid.
