Right, it's at Lydden hill, it's a 3 hour endurance race. Teams of 3, £150.

80cc geared, or 125cc auto. Cheating is positively encouraged.

Anyone wanna be in a team, and/or have a knackered old scooter that could be used?

Oh, Sat 20th Jan.

I'll be in a team.

Always fancied it.

Do have some track knowledge there Smile

Don't have a bike, but sure one could be acquired somehow.

Oooh oooh ooh! Cool

Is that £150 per team, as in fifty quid each?

The regs seem very brief.

But they're HERE.

I've ridden Lydden twice, and have been known to do it quite quickly on low powered bikes.

Has BCF moped mayhem team just been formed?

I've ALWAYS wanted to have a go at moped endurance.

When i'm older I might look into starting a team. Cool

Moped 'madness', not mayhem.

It's run by Bemsee Confused.

And if you can use seriously tuned 125cc 2 stroke scoots, err, could be interesting Smile.

We'll be getting owned Razz.

hmm, I'll be spending £180 on an off-road day in Jan so despite loving the idea, I wont have the money; but if there's spectator/heckler space I'd love to come along!

Where exactly is the Lydden track?

Lydden is a bit further up the A10 from dover.

It's a good shout if a team had a shout of winning I suppose.

A team of MZ racers is using the dodgiest C90 you've ever seen. It hasn't been started in 3 years. And it had wheel spacers 'machined' out of plumbing pipe the night before.

I think it's more of a piss about for the bemsee racers.
And the main aim is how badly can you make your moped explode.

I know they said cheating's encouraged, but a C90 is a tad too obvious I'd have thought Neutral.

My thoughts were.... crashed RS50 on ebay - RS250 forks, 675 fairings, 80cc bore and exhaust modified to look like a trumpet one.
Halfway through, we swap the bike for my trumpet, on which we'll have a baffle in the exhaust. We then add an amp/speaker playing a much louder small 2 stroke sound and kick ass Smile.

Why would a C90 be out? Surely you could blag it as an auto. Doesn't it have that funny honda semi geared thing. Never ridden one personally.

I thought it was mainly c90s.

I was thinking we bodge C90 plastics on the MZ. Sounds about right, probably makes about the same power sadly!
Or cross a zero off the bandit.

It is 'semi auto' - I believe it has a centrifugal clutch on a manual gearbox.
This means you let the revs drop a bit and it disengages the engine.

It is more 'manual' than auto, though, I believe.

It also has a front end that rises when you brake.

A c70 should be allowed.

So it wouldn't be a lot easier to use a bored out RS50 then swap to an RS250, or would that just be way too complicated and stupid, or was that your idea? Thinking

So, erm, does anybody actually have a moped?

If not, I suggest we buy something like this, and ghetto-tune the bollocks off it. For example throw away the head gasket (for uber compression), pour in some airplane fuel and see how long it lasts... Laughing

Just discussing in IRC. I suspect they may have different classes as they do in moped mayhem.

Toss up between going tarty (bored rs50 etc) and seriously un tarty (the above).

I think Korn's more in the spirit of it.

As far as I can tell there won't be classes, just one big free for all weston style.

Bar the TT starts.

EDIT: Bit of orange paint and a couple of HRC stickers and it'll be tarty. In fact I have some HRC stickers.

From what I can see moped mayhems have a free for all, but with classes for different types of bikes (all racing together).

I believe weston is the same - they have sub classes in the main race (not 100% on this, but other enduros do).
