NOOOOO!!!!!!! HELP!

Everything was so perfect!!! I know have a bike basically purhased, and today a guy came to see my tzr (2005) and said he wants to buy it next tuesday. Great. Until I left my girlfriend at her house and started the bike up again.
Now there's a loud rattling noise coming straight from the engine which gets worse the higher the rpm!
I am screwed. My local mechanic is so busy he can't even accept my bike cause he has nowhere to keep it! What can this be, and what can i do by myself?

Sounds like it's toast. Best case scenario is something loose, i.e. primary drive or flywheel. Otherwise it's rebuild time.

yeah I could do that...I was thinking maybe it's a broken piston ring???
I'm dont know how that would still run though, and im not sure how to bleed my coolant either...

The bike has 4500km on its engine...I happen to have a spare crankshaft if that helps Rolling Eyes

Well, have a look at the sparkplug first off. It will usually tell you a lot.

First of all, how do you actually remove a spark plug? I've never tried, only taken the whole top end off with it on. Second, what can I know from looking at it and how?

Well, the usual way is to pull the plug lead off, get a plug spanner, place the plug spanner over the top of the sparkplug and rotate it anticlockwise until it comes out.

Report back with a description of the colour and condition of the plug electrode, or post a picture of it.

Replace the plug by screwing it clockwise into the sparkplug hole (without cross threading it) until it is finger tight then giving it ONE QUARTER OF A TURN with the plug spanner, no more.

I find it very hard to believe you own a 2-stroke sports bike and do not know how to remove a sparkplug Shocked

It's a 50cc gear bike. Hardly a SPORTbike. It's practically a scooter...I'm getting the Rs 125 within a week. That bike actually has a fucken manual so I'll be able to mess around with it and learn. I can't find the manual for the tzr 50 in any language for any money...

You're just digging yourself a bigger hole here. Attention to the sparkplug is even more necessary on small capacity 2-strokes.

When was it last changed? Or even looked at? Get the thing out now, give it a new one.

Also check for gas leaks round the exhaust manifold.

If you have a camera you could record the sound from different parts of the engine and it might give use a better chance off figuring it out.

considering it's a 2005 "bike", i'll presume you've owned it since new or are the second owner.

you havent said the service history on it, only the miles it's worked up. you don't know how to remove a spark plug. so (apart from the recommended service intervals) i can only assume you've not been doing much in the way of basic servicing in the time you've had it? plugs/filters/oil.
whack in some oil first. go from there.

I'd do the oil before the spark plugs, when my car was low on oil it made a god awful rattling noise, as did my mums when hers was low.

Ill try to explain as much as possible...
I tricked the bike a while ago, so my crankshaft is a reinforced one, but due to seizure I put everything else back, but this means my warranty isn't worth anything. My bike has been in and out of mechanics, so oil and stuff like that should be in prefect condition...The only things not original are the air filter and the crankshaft. And yes, I am the second owner.
