Throttle on to desired speed, throttle off, hit killswitch, wait 2/3 seconds, flick the killswitch back on.

Alot of people think that keeping it held off as long as possible will make the flame bigger, but this isn't true!

The more you do them the more you get used to where the best point to turn it back on is!

Great fun in tunnels though Laughing Thumbs Up

Because if you turn an injection engine off, it doesn't inject. Wink

I must remember to give this a go.

Does it do any damage to the bike at all?

Actually let's face it, I'm going to try it anyway!

Is it possible to do a 'killswitch backfire' without a killswitch. Logic surely dictates no..

I found it only worked on mine if I flicked the killswitch off/on with the throttle open. Only ever did it the once though, didn't see the point.

Yes, it's possible to do damage, the same way it's possible to potentially damage anything that you make an explosion inside of.

My brother blew his exhaust apart along the seam doing this.

so let me get this right before i try it and blow my ass off....

I ride along (into a tunnel...)
hit kill switch - which turns the bike off
wait a few secs
flick killswitch back on

do i need to hit the start button aswell or will it just start on its own? waits for the barrage of abuse for the silly question

1) It'll start on it's own when you flick the switch back on, this is why bump starting works too

2) You don't need to open the throttle while you have the killswitch off

3) Yes you can do it with bikes without a killswitch, use the ignition key instead.

The killswitch is the red button on the handlebar if anybody is not sure and the red colour does its job in making itself aware to you and urges you to use it at every possible opportunity, archway/bridge/tunnel/in town.

It's very fun to do Wink

Yes, rev the engine up shut the throttle kill the engine let the revs die right down then hit the kill switch back to run.

I once blew the baffles out of my A100 exhaust because the throttle froze open in January, and I had to turn off the key approaching a roundabout. Turned the key back on and BANG - out came the baffles. Never saw them again.
