While commuting to work this morning, was filtering on A40. A nice small peugot (lady driver) decided to move into the fast lane, to occupy the 1 spot available in otherwise very slow traffic. I used to think I was good at observation, seeing drivers hand/head movement etc. but this female, had hands under the wheel, and she literally dint check mirrors at all. Managed to clip my handlebar. Had read loads of people saying we will kick, beep horn, but this all happened in a split of a second and the only thought I got was fukin IDIOT and shit, i dint sort my life insurance yet
Somehow managed to stay upright....thk god! The lady was apologetic while i made fuss for next 5 seconds ( 2 honks and shout from inside the helmet ) . Saw the whole blue paint of car has transferred to my handlebar.
Someone said things happen in 3s , dint know it was for bad things Further down the road a bmw/honda decided to do the same, my path was blocked so cudn't accelerate! Put my high beam on, and thkfully he stopped in middle..
Taking the M25 exit, there is always one lane stationary (towards heathrow) and another free (towards watford). Am taking exit to join watford lane from M40, and this sports Jag decided to come out! Thkfully this time i had free space and I was able to accelerate out of trouble. so this is 1st of dec, had 3 close calls in less then 2 miles...
Next steps: Sort LIFE insurance
Drive carefully
decide whether to tell missus (guess not)
Thanks guys for reading this. Please take care.

Take care yourself, get off the roads, since you're not insured to be on them. |

Edit: I've also found that people pulling into the fast lane is by and large the most dangerous situation on the motorway. It made me realise I shouldn't be going more than 30mph faster past other traffic, because they can pull out so easily. Realised this when an old BMW nearly pulled out on me doing about 75, when I was doing an easy 130. Luckily he saw and swerved back in. I hold nothing against him for that, no-one should have to expect that there's a loon behind them doing double the speed limit.
So keep it slow on motorways kids, unless it looks safe to do otherwise. |

Some days it's just not safe to be out there. When car drivers get frustrated, they will do some STUPID things to gain 10 feet in a queue of traffic.

It worries me the stupidity cagers show when they get flustered in traffic, they might not move more than 2 ft but they will block off half a mile doing so by pulling into box junctions or out into the centre of a road just so they have their noses out... In sheffield the police are actually really good and move over for bikes to filter which i have found makes other drivers follow suit too I just wish more was done about idiots who think that pulling out gets them home faster and not just cause more road blocks..
be safe m8 and stay alert!
cheers
