Suzuki Bandit Fuel Tank

Does anyone know the the fuel tank on the 600 and 1200 bandit are the same size and fitment to the frame? The bikes are 97's

Part numbers are slightly different for a plain black tank, but I have no idea what that means?

600's don't have a fuel gauge whereas 1200's do (sender unit?)

They both rust out and as far as I'm aware are interchangeable.

My K4 Bandit has a fuel gauge. In fact I think all post 2000 Bandit 600's have a fuel gauge.

if it helps, i've got a 1200 tank on my 750 bandit, its a '98 bike. (all factory fit standard). apparently its the 600 chassis
