Cool. Are speed and tacho meters waterproof?. Just one case but CB400SF version R with bikini cowl had non-waterproof meters, some R users converted to naked, and had meter trouble.
Sorry if not on your GS.

I need some stuff for it though!

I fancy a bellypan, SS brake lines, decent pads, some mirrors.

Any suggestions? It's hard to get bits that match the bike's colour.

Kawashima: The GS500 is originally naked, the bikini fairing is a horrible aftermarket option which was probably once a full fairing (There are lugs underneath the engine which match the style of the top fairing lugs).

The bike was Cat C written off in 2000, so I presume the bottom fairings got mashed and then junked.

Thanks for the comments guys.

I shall be able to clean it more once the outside light works and now I know how to work the MucOff bottle properly Smile

what about a renthal bar? and some of those lovely twin chrome headlights?

i miss my gs Crying or Very sad

i know its "only" a GS. and i know my 750bandit is ten times faster.

but it was my first bike/project.

power bronze belly pan, renthal bars, Rassk raisers, shorter dog bones. twin chrome lights, and so on and so on. get it all done. i've known people with rgv usd forks on them. they look mint.

end of the day, the road is not a race track so you may aswell enjoy yourself instead of racing people Wink

You can add a load of plastic/paint/better bars but you'll still have the o'rrible gs frame.

Try doing some high speed motorway work in heavy rain and then say you don't like fairings.

I say don't spend any sort of money on a bike like a GS500 and save up for a meaner machine. Just my opinion. Smile
