Hi I managed to get 259 miles on a full tank and that was on a mix of roads 30,40 and National speed limit.

Got a soft spot for the Varadero I have, I used to have one! I would'nt bother spending money on add ons (apart from a belly pan perhaps), save your money towards bigger big ( I presume you will be moving up bike wise - test dependent etc).
Retail value is good but I don't think that add ons will improve things any.
I traded mine in against my GSX, it was an 03 plate and had done over 13k.
Excellent commute bike, economic and very comfy. BUt you will need, need for speed soon though.
