Of course not but why do parents buy their kids these death traps when they have no provision to ride them legaly? The cops are clamping down at last around here but I still see them weaving in and out of traffic with little kids with no crash hat in control ( I use a very loose definition of the word control here).

Let them ride the mini-motos if they want to. It's Darwinism in action. As I once heard someone say "take the warning labels off everything and let society sort out its own stupidity problem."

Most popular thing here in redneck land is buying kids the small dirt bikes etc.

But most places offer a deal of the bike all the gear and some lessons.

Also can ride a ped/50cc here at 14 with no insurance no lisence plate and no lisence Laughing

He should have got one of these: https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=001&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=110063756711&rd=1&rd=1

No idea what the insurance would be on it though?

That thing road legal? My arse! No brake light for a start and the seller (a bike shop owner) offers no tax or MOT.

And the tax disc displayed is illegal, because it has to be on the left hand side towards the front Wink (i can't remember what the date said though)

Mini motos appeal to kids fair enough.

Parents should go the extra mile, make sure they go to proper go kart tracks, the actual racing side of it is much more fun anyway!

Police round here destroy them, which I think is fair enough!

because their parents dont care, if they had any idea they would buy their kids a mini moto and take them to a karting/minimoto track, but they dont know where they are so the answer to your question in short is ignorance

Damn straight.

If your parents bought you a mini moto when you was 12 years old, your gona ride it, at that age I dont really rember things like this being classed as dangerous! Ok I might fall off and graze my knee, the thought of smacking my chest into a truck bumper at 30+mph didnt come into mind.

The parents should either be taking them to tracks or at least to a quite field away from houses extra to not piss people off, and to keep the child reasonable safe. Wearing the proper protection and being supervised at all times till there at least 14-15.

Not only should the bikes be crushed, but social services should be contacted and should work very hard to take the kids away from the obviously bad parents.

I think the bikes could be put to better use than just destroying them. I'm sure the cadets/scouts would have somewhere legal to use them and could spend hours learning about and rebuilding the engines etc. Seems a waste.

Yea, Maybe even give them to schools and stuff so that can teach children to learn mechanical things. I think I only know one person my age who knows how to change a wheel on the car... thats kinda sad.

There is nowhere in inner city Brum to ride the things but plenty of places to buy one. They get used on the roads, in parks or down canal tow paths and are a menace. I get kids bringing them to my house to fix them but I always refuse, however I do tell them to wear a helmet. Commonly they tell me that Motos only do 30mph so it is not worth wearing a crash hat. I then role my sleeve up to show them a six inch thirty stitch scar I got at 10mph. The cops will not chase these kids as it will result in carnage but if they can trace MMs they get crushed.

The wife bought me one for christmas, long story but it got returned before it even got delivered. I must admit I was glad it did, as its not the sort of thing that you can just jump on and tear up the street on, if I did, I'd just annoy the neighbours beyond belief.

I am however, just 20 mins from one of the longest gokarting tracks in England, and for £30-40 I could go nuts there.

An expensive toy that would nt get used, but would be cool for my little 3 year old son when he gets bigger Thinking

The reason why there so cheap is because they just have crappy chainsaw engines in most of them... The only ones ive ever been impressed with are the actuall racing ones that are used down kart tracks, seeing the young kids at around 8 years old flying about on them things is very exciting, they are pretty damn fast for such a small machine.

Its in a place called Arena Essex (near the Lakeside Shopping Centre, just off J30 of the M25), they do banger racing, speedway and now they have a karting track. I seem to have 1700m in my head for some reason.

The standard chinese ones do just have small chainsaw engines in them.

They're a world apart from the proper race machines. I've not got a bog standard one, but when I went to the track last week, I was amazed at the world of difference between them.
