err...No, as Boobs said "Emission Laws" are against future two stroke models soo...it wont be feasible for a new model to be designed (thank goodness) and the four strokers, which are rumoured to be replacing them should be pretty cool with a supercharger, but shit without...125s are really for the learner market....why have a sports one? |

Hi
Suspect that they will develop 4 stroke replacements for the RS and the Mito. They have a few more years before the emisions rules kill them off.
However I don't really expect either maker to rush about producing new models. Both the Mito and the RS were products of the Italian 125 market in the late 80's and very early 90's (where you could ride a 125 at 16 but couldn't drive a car until you were 18), a market that has now pretty much disappeared. Neither the Mito of the RS have changed that much really beyond a few cosmetics. The RS frame is the same since 1993, yet in the 6 years before the RS was launched Aprilia had 3 very different 125 2 stroke sports bikes with different frame designs.
The Sachs was a nice idea. However looking at it the whole design is very crude. Reminds me in a way of a 1970's BMW. Solid engineering, but hardly stylish or cutting edge.
All the best

Who cares? There's absolutely no reason anyone should be riding a 125 nowadays. Unless you're commuting where a SR125 will do fine
Get your test passed and get a proper bike ____________________ Back on a Blade. Just feels so right. |

That's the thing... a 125 is merely a transition, so I don't see the point in spending so much money on getting one with tons of plastics which might fool the uninitiated that it's a big nasty sports bike until you turn it on and it sounds like a chainsaw |

OIi, shut up. I love my Bike, if I was to start biking again I would by another NSR. I've had a fantastic time riding it. I know alot of people who say that some of there best days riding was on a TZR/NSR/RS
Also you can look at most bikes as 'transitional' bikes, eg. your 1st 'big bike', you eventually want something bigger/better than it, so er........ NER NER
/ mini rant over (see what happens when I get up to early) |

I never said they weren't fun and that folk don't enjoy riding them.
With the 2-strokes being outlawed, we're going to get a glut of really feeble 4-strokes dressed up in a load of plastic - sporty looking bikes which don't go. These annoy me. Like that new 50cc R1 lookalike thing. That annoys me. |

Hi
Suspect they will land up coming out with supercharged 125 4 strokes. That should get them up to mid 20's hp, enough for a top speed of 95~100mph.
With the technology from stuff like the R1 they should be able to get about 20hp out of a 125 without any kind of forced induction
Still, waiting for a small 4 stroke to reach its power "band" is like watching paint dry
All the best
