Ideally we all want to meet in the que, failry early if possible.

Space is allocated on a first come first served basis, however you can not try and get some unfilled space a bit further back.

When people start to be let in, they have square 'pens' which they fill up, then let people through to the next one. This means we ideally want to be first into a 'pen' so we can grab as much space as possible, before it geets too clogged up.

So, who's going to be getting there on Thursday, at middayish times if possible?

Well, I think us northerners are aiming to get there for about 2pm (gates open time) although we could always set off a bit earlier to try and get in with everyone else. What time did gates open last year? We all got there quite early didnt we?

Errr... why meet up beforehand?

Why not at the worst case meet up there. There's plenty of space to sit at the side and wait for people. And it's a place everyone is going to have to know how to get to.

Or we can just get in the queue and let people in as they arrive (everyone was doing this, so not a major prob).

If possible it might be worth us getting there a bit earlier. That way we can get a place closer to the stages etc.

The enterance into Bdb is a pretty huge area of land.
If we were planning to meet, we may as well just do it at the enterance.

I hate to be negative. But getting space at RnB was far far easiler than BdB will ever be. Even if we are first into the 'pen', there is no way on earth that we will get enough space.
Last year was just one big bum fight, and most of us were there to help claim land.

This is going to be difficult.

I reckon subtely slipping into one of the further away 'pens', and quickely setting up is our best bet.

Does anyone feel like a sheep?

Laughing You're all completely barmy!

...Hmmm...and the flag is currently very pole-less, as they were destroyed at RnB.
I better sort that too i suppose.

...Or we could just sent hobit Ste up the nearest electrical pylon, so he can attach it to that. Razz

That reminds me. Why are 'guy' ropes called 'guy' ropes? WTF has guy got to do with keeping a tent/flagpole up?

My theory is that they were originally called guide ropes (as this makes far more sense) but some lazy camping types couldn't be bothered with the 'de' at the end and in time this passed into the language.

Any better ideas?

Erm... I thought they were called 'guide' ropes. I guess I'm a little behind in the times then.

My theory. The ropes were indeed called 'guide' ropes, but as the Cub scouts couldn't bear the thought that the Girl Guides had come up with the idea, they decided on the more manly name of 'Guy' ropes when constructing their tents. Laughing

I suppose its just this life-long game of Chinese whispers.
I'm not too sure what they are called, or how you spell it.
But Guy sounds about right. So that will just have to do for now.

I will be there quite late unfortunately so I will be playing catchup on the old booze once I get there Very Happy

Finish work at 6 so I should be there for 8 assuming all goes well. I have a space in zims tent so I shouldn't need any space reserving.

cheers
