DK Motorcycles seem to have some awesome prices! are they a reputable company though? its an hours drive for me, is it worth a visit?

Ive heard mixed views about them over the years and their prices are tempting me at the moment.

I remember reading that thread! forgot about it though, they can go swivel tbh would sooner pay a little more for peace of mind.

I thought id give them a call anyway and one guy told me the bike was a UK bike and another told me it needed £150 on top of the advertised price for OTR charges, when i asked what they where it was Tax and an SVA!! doh!! deffo not gunna use them.

D&K are always worth a visit. You can wander round the showroom, sit on the bikes, arrange test rides etc to your hearts content.

Then when you have decided what you want go and buy it from someone else.

I was tempted by their prices on the bike I want next too, but in the end I just couldn't be that stupid for the sake of a couple of hundred ££.

I was told by a reliable source, that the guy who owns DK was given a motorhome as a gift by a finance company, because of the sales he brought them. An awful lot of people must be succumbing to the lure.

might be ok for buying a new bike, but there have been a few horror stories on here about their second hand bikes. Arguably they sell enough that they are bound to fuck up at some point but my view is that if buying second hand you will usually get a worse deal from a dealer.

It depends what your looking for, i wouldn't buy 2nd hand from DK for 2 reasons. 1. Their reputation and 2. I don't buy from dealers.

If it was a brand new bike then maybe, as long as you make sure you are getting a brand new bike and not an 05 model thats been sitting gathering dust in japan for a year.

They do do some good prices on new bikes, i remember seeing a brand new MX125 up for £900 less than a dealer up the road was asking for a 55 plate one with 600 miles.

Just use your common sense e.g. don't ride around for 3 years with your headlight pointing the wrong way. surely you'd notice that straight away.

I bought mine from 'John Carr' motorcycles in Alfreton in Derbyshire, bloody fantastic service, friendly staff and nothing is too much trouble.

My new bike was leaking oil and they sorted it promptly and professionaly without question.
I would definately buy my next bike from them Thumbs Up

This reminds me of maybe 2 months ago when i came very very close to buying an APRILIA MX125 at nearly 2k below the Aprilia RRP!!

Im now thinking god bless my dad for talking me out of it!

Obviously im not saying the mx125's being sold cheap were ringers or stolen ofcourse!

i very nearly got my aprilia mx 125 from them so close i was hours away from the phonecall to finalise i spoke to them and was told about the bike etc wasnt until i asked inmoto (croydon)if they could match the price!he contacted them and they had to tell him the bike was a 04 model with 06 reg!he obviously couldnt match that!we struck a great deal and and i paid a few hundred and was ony 200 more i think and i got peace of mind which is priceless!!if i have any problems they are great

be very wary they are not up front with people!!
