as the owner of a scooter it does annoy me that a lot of people look down on you.

Me and the moving skip get on pretty well and as it is a 4stroke and 100cc its ok.

Fare enough its not what i want but i'm fed up of people looking down on them for what they are then thats ok they do there job easy to ride etc.

Remember scooter owners do not deserve to be looked down on.

They do when the fuckers pour coke all over your NSR.

Bastards. I showed him though, punched him in his baseball cap wearing face (with my gloves on) and pushed over his yellow 50cc shitbox.

you've got a point, i had the same thing when i was riding mine, unfortunately its the actions of a majority of scooter riders that seems to set an image in peoples heads

for example me and dan were in a petrol garage last night down at chelsea bridge, and all of a sudden about 30 scooters came charging in, beeping horns, skidding, swarming all over the forecourt, majority wearing helmets round their forehead, all riding on the pillion pegs, wearing adidas trousers and stuff, neon lights everywhere, light covers, anodised bolts, carbon look everything, "performance exhausts"

odd one here and there trying to do stunts..failing

its just this kind of thing that people see, cos its these scooters that stand out, therefore people assume all young people on scooters are like this, then no gives you the time of day

its shit, but its not gonna change unfortunately, just wait till you move to a bigger bike (most scooter riders at 16 dont follow onto bigger bikes) it does get better

i know what you mean exactly hondababe, when i turned 16 i got my 50CC ped, you dont get any credability at all (well i know its a ped but still). People generally turn there heads the other way, and every one with a cage wants to race and speed away from you to make you feel like shit!

The only thing to do is what i did.

Thats live with it as there is nothing you can do until you pass your test and get a bigger bike! You get endless amount of aknowledgment from other bikers!

Has anyone read this months performance bikes mag?

They've got a "world scooter bikes" feature it really is quite funny, fair enough they aren't 50cc peds. I would've loved to have seen the looks on sports replica's riders faces when they were getting overtaken by a scooter! Laughing

it only becuase when i see some one on a ped the chances are its some twatty egit with no interest in biking but his/her perents bought it or its stolen/ not taxed and they always riden at terminall speed --- round abouts , junctions , traffic lights the lot with out looking.

If you had a dt50 or some thing with gears i would and do quite happy nod wave and be friendly. (and show off Smile )

At the time of buying the scooter it was brought for me basically to commute through main city center without having to worry about gears and all of the rest. i personally wanted to pass my driving test so i could finally legally drive my car!

but on buying the scooter and then generally falling in love with bikes this is how it has happened so don't look down on scooter drivers were not that bad!

Scooter riders are tossers. Plain and simple. Of course there are exceptions but, we don't think of these exceptions until they get a bigger bike Very Happy.

You only have to watch a scooter rider for ten minutes to realise they are a danger to everyone and themselves.

I have generally found that scooter/ped riders not only have a distinct lack of riding skill but they also posess an unhealthy disregard for the road and it users. That's the impression that a lot of non-bikers have as well.

The problem is that the majority are ridden by boy racers waiting to get their Nova at 17 who seem to think that they are invincible.

Although having said that, most of the time I do still nod/wave at scooters.

HHHmmm you cant genralise that much. Yeah ive seen a few idiots on scooters, actually ive seen quite a few but ive also seen my fair share of muppets on big bikes, bloke popping a wheelie in shorts n t shirt on saturday for example. Ive seen some *proper* bikers as a lot of people like to call them act like complete tossers and although its the minority it does happen, people just seem to remember the bad ones instead of the good ones. I've had a lad stop on a scooter and ask if i needed a lift to the garage when he saw me pushing my storm once, you do get nice scooter riders, just like you get decent car drivers and cool bikers. Remember you lot, they still have two wheels and although theyre a bit slower they still deserve the respect you expect to be given yourself. How on earth do you expect to convince people to move onto bigger bikes if you slag them off so much for having a scoot?

Oh and on the neon lights thing, although i personally wouldnt fit them to my bike, its down to personal choice at the end of the day, if you dont like them dont get them fitted to your bike but dont slag off other people because of it. Thats just like judging someones character for the trainers they wear for example.

\o/ Ive just fitted gold radiator mesh Very Happy
