Not bad, but a bit annoying on an underpowered bike going fastish.

On a 64hp SV at Snetterton I was constantly annoying/being annoyed by litre bikes as I took them on the corners and got my arse kicked on the straights.

A slower pace or a sports 600cc or bigger and you should be fine, though.

Not sure what you mean about slower pace - don't they grade you by time so that you start by people of your pace. That will include people who are faster on corners / slower on straights and vice versa?

Did you enjoy it more than standard track days?

Hi

The problem is that over a lap someone with a litre bike but who is slow in the corners may take about the same time as someone on a slower bike but who corners quickly. Hence the person with the quicker corner speed lands up getting slow moving bikes hogging the line they want to take.

Being fair the day G went was at Cadwell just before a Bemsee race weekend and there were a hell of a lot of racers there practicing which somewhat biased the groups (and put some reasonably fast people into the novice group).

All the best

Keith

They place you by your lap times. So in this case I was doing lap times similar to those on bikes with twice as much power as me.

While I'm not a decently fast rider by far, I can hustle a bit when required - I've been club racing for a couple of years now etc. At my sort of pace I've found that having an under 100hp bike can often get a bit annoying as people you have passed can come straight back past on the power regardless of corner speed.
Once you get to around 100hp I find it's enough to stay ahead of most riders as you get decent go for quite a while coming out of a corner.

I found the difference in power to be less of an issue when I was riding in the novice group, as there's such a range of skills - so riding at a bit slower pace it isn't such an issue.

I would recommend them over normal trackdays.

I didn't go out in any sort of order there because I only did half a day.

I was thinking Snetterton - there were some /very/ fast people there however. Fastest lap was set by last year's British Superstock championship winner - so we're talking respectable times for BSB kinda thing!

The one I did at Brands worked well and I got the chance to have a play with a few other people of a similar speed on similar bikes to me - for instance a hornet cup rider as well as a couple of people on track prepped SVs.

I did the first ever pace day back in the European Superbike school days at Snetterton (and was the first to crash on it as well Embarassed) - on a 600 and was happy with the way it worked.

I've done a few and had the same issue as g, but that was on the hornet. You will be fine on the 675.
Let me know if your doing one Martin and i'll pop along to ride/photograph for you.
