Hi

Quite possibly both. For example, might just offset the date when something serious needs to be done about pensions, but might have undercut many people from saving for some form of private pension.

All the best

Over the summer I travelled through 26 European countries, and Bulgaria was by far the poorest nation I saw. The most telling thing was crossing the border into Serbia and suddenly seeing clapped out ancient tractors everywhere. There were very few tractors in Bulgaria, clapped out relics or not, because your average farmer there can only afford a horse and cart! Exclamation

However I'm not particularly concerned about immigration from these two new EU nations. The effects of the last increase in EU size didn't seem to problematic to me, just created a more diverse populace.

The other story linked has some Romanian chap explaining how hard it is to work over here.

I doubt it is much of a strain compared to pulling a plough or selling guns over there. lol
He says that to become a lawyer, or self employed here is hard work.....he has no idea.

How did you come to that conclusion?

selling guns over there

Does it mention he has had anything to do with the gun, or indeed any other, illegal trade?

How much do you know about farming/agriculture to compare it to jobs such as lawyers etc?

Both ,

Since they will work for less wage inflation goes down ,

this affects you,

but since they will work for less prices stay down or companies will get greedy and put prices UP AND cut costs ,

sort of like marsbars in 2003 , they decreased the size weight and chocolate content, and yet still increased the price 5p.

this also keeps our unemployed , er unemployed , since in a closed economy when there is a labour shortage the market responds by putting up prices why bin men used to be paid lots, and the unemployed where financially encouraged to work since the dole tipping limit was breached , now the same jobs are advertised @ min wage and migrants take them instead.

Best solution if you don't want so much migration (of both types ie in AND out) is to limit the dole ie , you get 2 months right to dole for every 1 year you work.

Which prevents school leavers getting their GCSEs and signing onthe same afternoon , and keeps the safety net working people fear.

note this is an exact rehash of the 1960s when we got Indians to come over to do our crap jobs,

He was talking of others, not himself.
He said working on the black market was a bit dodgey.
I just took it to the extreme and mentioned guns.

i think its good for society, as most of the immigrants will want to work hard, as a pound earned is worth a lot more to them than it is to us.

However for people affected by the extra competition for jobs, it will be bad eg plumbers and builders.

Lol - I remember reading an article in the newspaper about Asians who were worried that the Polish were stealing their jobs, then the Polish were worried that the Romanians and Bulgarians are going to steal their jobs. Never ending Laughing Rolling Eyes

Of course it is worth more, if they can buy enough food to eat for a week, and have a bed to sleep in, these people are happy.
Britains wages should be higher with the increase in the things we buy, as a much more developed country we should be sorting this.

If you had bothered to read the article properly you should have noticed that it was a woman who was mentioning this. She also mentions that they are already qualified lawyers in Romania, so I think they have a fairly good understanding.

What she was pointing out was the difficulty in retraining towards the English legal system and to learning the language.

Why don't you contribute something which isn't utter bollocks to the thread?

As mentioned it's a woman speaking in that part. What does she have no idea about exactly? Bearing in mind she seem's willing to put in the work from that qoute, though that is me assuming to a large extent? Rolling Eyes

Ok so I scan read, I really didn’t think you’d spend all this time gibbering…..and anyway, all I got wrong was the gender.
I thought it was the guy pictured to the right.

I made a joke about selling guns on the black market and also said something about how hard it is for them to work here.

Shi*, don’t get this much grief from women….….chill out

The one thing the government hasnt thought about. They say the immigrant workers will do all the low paid jobs that we dont want to do. The reason we wont do these jobs as if we take these jobs we cant afford decent living conditions (ie food, clothing, housing etc) and there is a strong link between poor living conditions and poor health, so eventually this is going to put an even bigger strain on the NHS that the government already say is under too much strain!

I've been skiing in Bulgaria, and when I went, the group we were in did a whip round of about £50... which at the time was more than the instructor earned in a month...

yeah but the may just be tripping over , ie work here for the extra ££££ and then go home where their pittance here isworth a fortune there,

Aussies do it cus out £1 is worth 3 of theirs so in effect 1 year work here (if you live cheaply) =3 years there.

Indian Doctors are doing it in reverse , they are UK born doctors who work in the NHS till they are 35ish then bugger off to India to work private the money is alot less than UK in raw $ amounts but buys so much more,

ditto with pensioners who go to Spain or something to retire cus it buys more.
