Hey,

So crazy, in two weeks I will be there. Anyone been? I don't know what to expect!

Going alone, me time. I've been to the states 4 times before (family and skydiving) and twice I almost stayed.

Says she who loves traditional British Christmases. Oh well, we can all be mixed up cant we?

I'm looking forward to sitting in Las Vas bar all alone with a beer- miles away.

Hey just me.

Before you ask - it's not on a bike. . . . . . it's in a cranky white van.

My dream is do do all the BIG American routs on a bike.

I did Highway 1 on a 1340cc heritage softail classic wearing shorts, a hawaiian shirt, shades and a bandanna with flames on. Cool

Got pretty boring after a while though. It is so straight and slow.

I've done from Cali to Oklahoma along route 66, it was cool Cool
I drove it with 2 friends last year (well 2005 now) in a 2.0L auto Dodge neon Razz fun hey!
I don't think we stuck to route 66 as most of it is crap now, we used some of I-40 aswell. My mate got a speeding ticket doing 38 in a 35mph Rolling Eyes
Other then that we had a great time doing all the toristy stuff. Camp to save money. Be friendly to the local imbread truckers and buy a good map! there about the only tips I can give you Wink
And when you come back your be sick of 3.5% beer( the most they sell in the supermarket) and fastfood.

When are you going to be in Vegas? I'm only about 5-6 hours away, depending on how fast you drive.

I used to live in this shitty little town right on Rt66, between Holbrook and Winslow. It's called Joseph City... and it's not worth stopping in. Make sure you stop off and see the Meteor Crater, since you'll be in that part of the state. Just outside of Holbrook is the Petrified Forest. Huge petrified logs all accross the desert, and it's the painted desert, so there's some gorgeous things to see.

Hey,

Thank you so much for taking time to give me this advice. I'm not going anymore Sad.

I found out two days the trip is cancelled but my agents failed to tell me. They knew back in November! I'm currently batteling for expense compensation. I lost out on Flight and hotes etc.

I just can't afford it, it was my savings.

I was so upset. I love America.

I've stayed in Lake Elsinore a few times, I just love there 'way'.

Maybe I will be there next year?

awww. I saw the post on that. I hope you can get all your money back, plus some compensation for your "pain and suffering" Wink.

The west will still be here next year, though I'll probably be over there this time next year.
