ive got a Tom Delonge singanture strat with a rosewood neck on it and i want to fit this really really nice maple neck i have to it, the only problem is the holes on the back of the neck to screw the neck to the body dont line up, could i fill the holes in that are there now with wood filler so it dosent split the wood, and re drill holes in the correct position without any problems?

I wouldn't advise it. the pressure on the neck is VERY high.

If you glue the neck as well it 'might' hold

Thats how they make Les Pauls anyway...

You could think about fitting lighter guage strings too to decrease the tension on the neck

ahh well i think ill leave it then lol, it was only because the maple looked nicer against the colour of teh body, of course i could always drill the body but i dont fancy that, thanks for the help much appreciated

The TD signature strat already has a maple neck. It's the fingerboard that's rosewood. Changing the neck isn't a good idea for all the reasons given previously, plus you'll end up with a butchered guitar worth far less than the original.

Just get another strat.
