Is it just me, or is the weather not all that bad?
Ive been out and about all day and night with about 8 other bikes, for about 4 days in a run, and the roads are dry, the tyres are hot, and the knee sliders are down (not mine, but my mates)

I know the bad weathers coming, and i am waching out for it, but im still getting in some REALLY good rides, just as i would in summer..

how many peoples bikes are away? whats the weather like? is it still suitable for "progressive" riding near you?

im in the north west.. cumbria.

Steve.

Nope, still very wet here. It's a shame because the afternoon was reasonably bright but we've had so much rain recently everywhere is soaked. Surprisingly warm though. It's typical that we've actually had some really nice days during last week Rolling Eyes I'm down south BTW.

It's been dull and overcast here all day and it hasn't stopped pissing down once which is a Bastard as I need to fix my bike...

Two days now it's been off the road and it's doing my head in.....

I got caught in the ran yesterday and got very drenched, but it was still quite warm for this time of the year. Today wasn't that bad just went up to north London, it was a little wet but loads of dry patchs on the road.

I think its going to get bad during the end of jan and feb.

Besides the rain, this "winter" has been really warm, about 10 degrees average. That is perfect temperature for me. Not cold at all.

I'm finding the weather far to mild for this time of year, I much prefer really cold crisp dry weather.

Its been miserable here in Bristol and its just started to pour with rain Sad

Its been very dry here too, a few days of rain but not much else. At the moment it feels like spring to me, far to warm for the time of year.

The other night i got bored and went out for a ride at midnight for an hour. When i got home at 1am i was still warm. Even my finger ends where toasty, and that was without the heated grips on.

Im in Lincolnshire.

Cheers,
Shaun.

Been out on my bike 2 days in a row... soaked two days in a row. Was nice when i set out on both days but after a quick stop it started pissing it down. Obviously since it was nice when i started i didnt take any water proofs and you know the rest. Especially annoying when the water just seeps through the jeans into your boxers. Confused

I'm in Sheffield and it's the same as Jake. It's warm, but it just rains in the night so the roads are greasy in the day. Still, I had a pretty good ride the other day in the pouring rain Laughing I love the bewildered look of the hikers on my local twisty roads as you rattle past. They always look surprised that you're "making progress" at this time of year on the crappy road conditions instead of having the bike nicely tucked away in the garage.

When does the proper winter really start and finish? I seem to remember last winter it was really cold (0 deg c in the middle of the day) from the middle of Nov 2005. And I was still in my textiles April 2006 Shocked

If all winters are like this I don't see why people are flocking to their cars.

Last winter was bad... But this is a piece of cake... Let's hope it doesn't get worse though *touches wood*

Still having some good rides and haven't noticed any less grip...

It's comparatively warm in Medway...

Each winter seems milder than the last over the last 5 years. I'll bet by 2010 we'll be seeing winters in which we can ride with summer gloves all year round.. of course in summer we'll have to ride stark naked, but thats global warming for ya.

The roads are not to bad just recently however there is still alot of rain and they are slippery and coverd in gravel and washed down mud so definatly not knee down conditions around here.

Come the summer though a whole different story Twisted Evil

Still warm here too (Cambridgeshire) - so much so that I've not even fitted the winter kit to the Fazer yet (heated grips and hand-guards).

Neither the cold nor the wet puts me off riding - got a good soaking on Saturday as it happens - but it's nice that it's mild.

Its uncannily mild, i went out today to get my MOT done and it was pissing down. An hour later, it was bright sunshine and i was nice and warm in just my winter textiles. No biting wind, only a bit greasy on the road. Usually with mild winters we get a poor summer.

Summers don't get 'that' warm anyway Wink so as long as it's around the 20ish mark I'm happy.

I'd be happy if it were sunny, nevermind cold.
