 |
|
Ok so today I went about fitting my new Airblade double bubble screen to my 1995 CBR600F. Before anything I double check it was the right screen, and it was, CBR600F 1995-1998.
Well it's rubbish!!!!!!!!!! Absolutely poor design and really doesn't fit at all. The top corners (nearest rider) curve out and the top fixing isn't angled in enough. The result is having to use linger bolts and putting up with gaps either side of the screen.
Has anyone here fitted a screen to my model of bike and how did it go? Where did you get it and what make is it as I want a refund on mine to buy one that actually fits! ____________________ Current: '07 Suzuki SV1000 & '07 Honda SH300i (again).

Why not just get the honda extended screen?
Actually, I'm quite interested in this because I was thinking of getting a 600f for commuting/touring.
What's the protection from the windblast like on the 'F'? ____________________ Kawasaki ER6n -> Honda CBR600RR -> Honda VTR 1000 -> Moto Guzzi Norge 1200

I've got Airblades on both my Firestorm and my Thunderace.
The Pyramid one I originally got for the Thunderace didn't fit (was incorrectly labelled by Pyramid) and the shop didn't have any correct ones in stock. they supplied me with an Airblade, and it fitted perfectly. After that I got the Airblade for the Firestorm, and that fitted perfectly too.

Anyone else tried to fit one to a 600F?
As for wind protection, this is the only bike I have had so can't compare mate. But having ridden with this screen on (albeit an extreme botch job) I do notice the difference somewhat, pushes it above the neckline. ____________________ Current: '07 Suzuki SV1000 & '07 Honda SH300i (again).

I had one on my ZX6R, didnt fit to well but thought it would be ok.....thats until the screen started cracking....then it started cracking my fairing. Took it back and was told 'Maybe you've not fitted it correctly or dropped it etc' which I guess was a fair comment as it was 5-6 months later
So they let me have another screen at cost price, I let them fit it.... So 3 months later the screen cracks again. Was told it was very usual. Sent it back to Airblade with a real snotty letter, only got a refund for the actual screen! and nothing about my broken fairing. I still VERY annoyed, it's ruined the look and stands out to me.
If it doesnt fit to well and causes the fairing to flex in anyway, just take it back and get one that fits. Please for your own sake. ____________________ My bikes are at https://www.bikepics.com/members/dynamight/ |

Well I emailed the guy I bought it from (an ebay shop) and he's more than happy to provide a refund and will send the screen back to Airblade along with my comments.
The frame isn't bent at all, in fact once I had the original screen out you can see the difference in design, but I gave it ago anyway which proved to be a waste of time.
I think I will try a Fabbri one as Tippetts Honda can get them in and I have a credit note to use ____________________ Current: '07 Suzuki SV1000 & '07 Honda SH300i (again).
