Just my personal experience but i had avon azaros on, and on damp roads i found my ones had next to no grip at all. On dry roads they were perfect. I have heard a few others say this, but equally i have heard people swear by them.

One thing i will say is they last AGES.

I'm exactly the same as quick_d. On dry roads the Azaros are great. On wet roads they are truely aweful.

I lost count of the number of times they span up in the wet whilst I had them. It happened that often it didn't bother me. It wasn't like I used to pin it either, just a reasonable amount of throttle in second and you'd be fishtailing down the road (Hornet 600). I really did worry whenever I went out in the wet.

I got 5-6k out of my front and rear (I let the front pressure go down a fair bit by not checking it so probably explains the low mileage. Wasn't bothered as I wanted shut of them.)

But yes, I've heard other people swear by the Azaros. Maybe I had some from a duff batch?

I have no idea how long my avons would have lasted, i lost the front in the wet whilst braking and that was enough for me. It wasn't real heavy breaking either; a bit more rapid than usual but i think it should have been ok.

Might have been me grabbing too much front but after that what little confidence i did have in them i lost.

On a side note i changed them for Brigestone BT020's, and have found the wet weather grip still is not amazing, so maybe it's the way my bike is set up? i don't know but that is my view of the avons, as said lots of people use them and love em Thumbs Up

It's not the bike mate. Put some Pirelli Diablos on and you'll see Twisted Evil. No idea how long they last though, still on my first pair and only done 2k on them. The grip in the wet is excellent Thumbs Up

Hi

Have Azaros on the Bandit. Have a set of D207RR on the Bimota.

Personally have no problems with the Azaros. Not the best tyre in the wet, but do their job. Just ride smoothly. They last very well.

The D207 on the Bimota are FAR worse in the wet.

All the best

Keith

Have Azaro ST on the FJR, Dunlop 208 on the thunderace and Dunlop 207 on the Firestorm. I think the 208 is marginally less grippy in the wet, but other than that, they're all good.

can also recommend looking at the Avon Storm ST if you're looking for a long lasting all-rounder of a tyre.

Try conti road attacks, some cheap deals on these at the moment. Cant fault them so far, good in the wet and dry. Seem to be lasting well too

Another vote for Diablo's, I've done about 9k on them now, although their not going to last much longer.

I've gone through 2 sets of 207s and have been very happy with them, not as good as 010s as they can let go a bit when pushing them hard even in the dry, but they give you some warning first. Did a pissing wet trackday on them at cadwell on my GSXR750 too and rode nearly as quick as I do in the dry, faultless. Will point out these were 207s, not 207RRs
