Avoid Warner Brothers Cinemas

It is now policy that they take your helmets off you when you go in to the screen - apparently its a fire hazard.

1 - Like I would put the thing that is going to save my life in the event of an accident anywhere where someone would kick it!

2 - I want a locker and a receipt for that (they take it off you and chuck it in the hot dog and snacks storage room and they are handled by people who no nothing about helmets and hand it back to you upsidown across the counter bouncing it off it as they do)

3 - So why is everyone going in there with rucksacks the size of two helmets - where are they doing with those.

Hang on... you wear the helmet in the film?

I've never had a problem with Warner Village. I either put my kit in a mates car, or in a locker in the carparks.

I will never hand my lid to some guy behind a counter to "look after it", as they would never tell me, or care if it gets dropped, stacked, thrown around or anything like that.

Can't you just put it on your lap or something? Or lock it to the bike?

Most of the time, unless it's a premier or something, there are always gonna be extra spaces, so the can be put there. However, I can see how lids on the floor can cause a potential fire hazard...maybe you should wear them into the screen.

Longwell Green is pants compared to Cribbs anyway...but it's stupidly expensive nowadays.

One reason they do this (although they wont tell you) is that in the states, it is quite a popular way the 'groups' who release films early across the internet to take a motorcycle helmet into a cinema with a small camcorder in it, put it on the seat next to them and record the film.

Before anyone asks, no audio is not a problem, cause in the cinemas in america, 99% of them have a headphone jack in the arm rest for the hard of hearing - they just take a feed from that

There are no lockers and even if they were they probably wouldn't be helmet sized! and the hippy and I often go just the two of us and the bikes so no car. As long as people are still taking their rucksacs in I don't see the difference - same goes for secret recording.

I don't like locking my helmet up outside as I hate suffering from damp helmet (or some drunk kicking helmet syndrome).

We had a small problem once before but I scared the poor person so much they never took the helmets off us again! Now we are informed it is going to be normal practice in all Warner Brothers.

We usually go to quiet showings and the helmets go on a spare seat or at worst under the seat. As for lids on the floor what about rucksacks on the floor and I for one wouldn't leave my lid where it could be kicked.

The helmet thing pisses me off, even though I spend most of my time wearing my lazer flip lid - which you can clearly see my face in - the security droids at the local Tesco's keep telling me to take it off and carry it around, which is a pain in the arse if you are trying to carry a basket and shop at the same time.

I keep pointing out that you can see my yap just as well as you can when I'm not wearing it, and how if I was going to rob the place I might just have the wits to wear a full face helmet, but no - "It's company policy sir".

I always make a point of parking right near the doors now, and applying liberal "warm up" revvage before buggering off with my shopping. I think they like me in there

Couldn't we organise some kind of petition/boycott of bikers vs. warner brothers. Maybe if we teamed up with Visordown we could get quite alot of names together. What about those online petition things you get?
