They are well known to be a bit ropey, with random bits dropping off occasionally. I've never heard of the frame snapping on one though.

Whas it from the UK?

Whas it brand new?

If so the warranty is not up as you get 12months in this country for anything new.

One of these?

https://image.ec21.com/image/shineray/oimg_GC01213050_CA01265372/125CC_EEC_Dirt_Bike.jpg

£600 give or take for them sounds about reasonable.

Apart from a screw on the exhaust shield coming off (not actually sure it was there in the 1st place) nowt has happened to the mighty monkey.

Its usually the electrics and parts that are the problem.

How is the warrenty up after just a month?

How did any imperfections not get noticed as they get delivered in a crate and you have to do basic assembly?

You say that he was just riding a few miles to and from work, did he ever go off orading and drop the bike that may suggest where the damage was caused.

Makes a little more sense.

But this is the sate that mine arrived in

https://i23.ebayimg.com/03/i/000/7c/a7/604a_1.JPG

Fair enough you dont have to check, but to install the battery you have to go near the frame under the seat, any fractures should have been seen?

It seems a very strange place to break to be honest, something is not right.

it had a 30 day warranty , wasnt in a crate , was demo model pre registered . 15 miles on clock . its not the one in the picture , based on old honda 125 , never been off road . its being welded up by friend . have to say it goes really well , engine seems fine . massive disc on front excellent , rest is shoddy exhaust already rusty , although this can be cured . 600 quid ? you pays your money and takes your choice

my brother actually gave a 55 plate Hongdou GY125 away today.

F*cking sick of the piece of shit, exhaust fell bits at the front, clutch's going, and the whole bike has started to rust and various nuts and bolts fall off at any opportunity.

never buying another again, off to pick up a 97 Honda xlr 125 tomorrow for the same price of the chinky crap Thumbs Up

Put up an ebay advert, telling people that this happens with the bikes. Complete with pictures. Failing that, please send me pictures of the frame and I'll do it. Can't be having people selling that shite. He could have been gone under a bloody lorry.

As I said, if you aren't going to spread the word, send me pictures.

Well what do you honestly think to a new bike that only costs £600? Its never going to be up to much is it? Like you say you pay your money and take your choice.

Although I understand you may feel annoyed, you get what you pay for in this world. I mean, for example, look at a brand new Honda CG125 - it'll set you back £2k. Now, you can get something supposedly very similar, again, brand new, but for £400. That makes the Honda 3 1/2-5 times more expensive than the Chinese bike! How can they make the bikes to this kind of price? By using cheap materials and poor quality control. It's like comparing a £20 pair of shoes with a £200 pair of shoes.

not really because im my experience, 20 quid shoes last much longer!! designer stuff is shite

think about it though, you pay 400 quid for a bike, if it lasts you two years with not much hassle then its scrapped its paid for itself really, cheap motoring

I'm always of the opinion that you're better off buying a decent second-hand bike than a shitty new one.
