Well guys and girls, I don't know about where you are but here in the Midlands it has been a glorious day (for January anyway)! So I deemed it to be too good an opportunity to miss and I wheeled the R6 out of the garage and took it for its first spin of 2007. I only did about 30 miles on it to blow the cobwebs out but I managed to take a picture as evidence lol... Very Happy

Hehe. Must be in the air huh?

Did a little bit more miles than you but first proper ride on the Zephyr since I bought it this afternoon. Feeling a lot more confident with it already (I am slower into corners but quicker out so that's not too bad) although I still have another 3k or so revs to play with before I use it to it's full potential. Still, it's a start! Very Happy

Not stopped Mr. Green yet........... Cool

Its been a good day, chilly but sunny. I went to the motorcycle trade expo event, got there and wondered around looking at the scantily clad ladies and some very nice bikes. Also got 2 free rucksacks and an oxford bike cover just for turning up. Mr. Green

Yep was out all day aswell, rode out to the North Norfolk coast Mr. Green , was a very nice day for the middle of winter.

Saw loads of other bikers out too, was almost like summer.

About the 3rd time I've had the FZR out this year, but I've been out almost every day so far this year on the Vespa anyway.

Took the very long way round to my mums (only 10 miles away or so) this morning to help remove tiles from her bathroom.

As you said, the sky was blue not too much of a breeze and little traffic, so the monkey got a good spanking.

Went to One Tree Hill for some scneic shots with the bike in the foreground, but the bikes too damn small Laughing

About 30 miles later and a severly shrunken pair of testicles, I finally arrived only to get covered in dust.

The ride home was even better, the sun had evaporated any last remains of last nights showers and the roads were bone dry. I dont think I could get my knee down on this bike, but I was giving it the beans were I could Very Happy

Lots of fantastic machines at Newlands corner today. So much chrome, people must spend their life polishing Smile

I was drooling over the Ducatti with the red frame.

Sorry should have taken some piccies.

Not a single nod by the dozen or so bikers that passed me today, maybe it was the low sun Confused

I nodded at every biker I saw today, even a guy on a dna50 and a Harley rider.
Most nodded back even the guy on the Harley Smile

When I'm on my Vespa I've stopped nodding to anybody but Vespa and Lammy riders as every other fucker just gives you a strange look.

I'd nod to you if I saw you on your monkey 'Whosthedaddy'
I'd be laughing at the same time Wink , but I'd still nod.. Razz

wilbur, you must be near me - I'm in Guildford. You should hook up with the SE lot for a ride.

Sounds good.

Unfortunately my better half now suffers from Sciattica so I'm a bit limited at the weekends. We were in the car today taking some photos of Shere church and I conveniently needed a toilet break on the way back Laughing

A herd of Cruisers went past on the way back from Bury this afternoon, presumably the same group from Newlands (or maybe a rideout).

Was good to get out and about on a bike again, albeit relegated to the pillion seat on Dad's Hornet.

I went out today too (2nd run of the year for me - last week was actually better weather here).

Planned to be out for a good few hours, but to be honest it was too windy to be fun. If anyone here knows Greenhow Hill, coming out of Pately Bridge, the top of it was unbelievable. I had a 10 degree lean angle into the wind on the straights! Still, the wind had dried the roads I suppose.

Well today the weather was a bit better here in the Midlands than it was last weekend (I think). There was a bit of wind about today but certainly not enough to worry about or even give you a 10 degree lean on the straights! Very Happy

It was iced up in the Forest of Dean this morning but once I was clear of the Wye Valley it warmed up well.

Both Boxhill & Bury Hill were heaving with bikes this morning. Thumbs Up

Mind you, the nice weather bought some right wossocks out in their cars today. Evil or Very Mad

The low sun was a bit of a bugger heading south on the A29 though. Thumbs Down

It was absolutely lovely in Coventry yesterday. I saw about 30+ bikes in total when looking out of my flat window. Wanted my bike so badly.

I even gave a local ned a round of applause when he pulled a pretty stunning 11 o clock wheelie on his moped for about 100 metres.

I went out with the guys too yesturday It was great, we did the midhurst run from portsmouth. I saw so many bikes, A massive thanks to the bikers that waved us down to let us know about that copper hidding just down the road, 5/7 of us had illegal exhausts and we propbably would have gone past him at about 90-100mph if it weren't for those guys. Very Happy

Plenty of bikers out as expected....

Big question though is will it get any colder or is that it??

Had a good blast over to Milton Keynes from Aylesbury yesterday with the missus on the back, weather was perfect
Saw quite a few bikes but not as many as I expected. Although from my bros flat in MK I could hear quite a few.
Any one else notice the colour of the sky around 3-4oclock, it went a very strange pinky-purpley-grey-blue colour!

i had a nice 600 mile trip this weekend, just went up to south wales from southampton on saturaday then home sunday via taunton.
saturaday was quite bad because of the wind, sunday was nice though and i could keep up a decent speed. saw quite alot of bikes out comming back through wales. i need to thank the nice people who warned me about the camera van along the m4.

Would have been out and about but the bike parts have not shown up yet... Sad

With that run, do you go via the a505/A5 or the better route up the buckingham road? The most fun route I do locally as a loop is mk, A421 towards buckingham then turn off for Swanborne/Muersley, hack it past the motorbike repair yard "something" engineering, through the villages and then onto the Buckingham/Aylesbury road (a413). Turn off at whitchurch for Oving then head over to Waddeston (picking up a bottle of Rothschild estate wine at the manor) then up the a41 to Bicester, then buckingham (Via the Tingewick Bypass and back to MK on the A422 (through Deanshanger).

If in the mood to keep going, carry on to Northampton (J15), nip through the villages and pick up the B526 through Salsey Forest and Back to MK via Stoke Goldington (Bike shop) and Newport Pagnell...

Smile

It's about 85 miles or so through mixed roads...
