It's just hit me how shit the Cityfly actually is.

errr...I think my shittyfly is shit.

Before recently, I was 60% in love with the shittyfly, I still am, in the only sense that it got me on roads and onto two wheels, don't we all love our first experiences, on two wheels? Otherwise I think it's crap.

I took it out today for a lap of the TT course, a few things I now hate about it...Acceleration, dear me... A 1.1 Saxo can out accelerate me on the fly, even when I'm clutchless upshifting...who said that saves time? Ha, not in this case.

Top Speed. The bike struggled to hit 55 mph today under it's own power...It use to hit 65mph. I believe the geeza who sorted the clutch also fucked about with the carb, so the bike now runs on higher revs, on tick over(which wasn't needed)...That adjustment, I believe has also fucked up the balance higher up the revs, even 2/3rds of the way up the revs the bike seems to bog down as if there's no fuel going to the motor...so that's bollocks.

Something else to do with the carb adjustments...The thing is internally rattling itself to bits...anyone ever heard a diesel or a Fiat 600 on a cold, cold day, when the tappats are rattly as fuck?...well the engine has made itself into one of them add that with a small grinding noise.... I checked the oil to see if it's starved of the stuff, but it isn't....Something is definitely NOT right internally...So much so, I'm not going to ride it, as a fear of the valves or something are tapping against the piston head...so again that's bullshit... I'm temnpted to ghosty the thing into a lake or set it on fire.

Anyone care to answer any of these questions?

I'm with the fire option as well.

Make sure you fill the tank up before you do it though, and for extra effect, do stuff like putting can(s) or deaodrant under the seat.

I think whichever you choose to do, you should video it for the BCF dvd (that hasn't been mentioned for a while).

Fire option sounds like the best option thought coz if you drop it in a lake then its gone, fire, well, burns for a long time. Especially if you fill 'er up before hand

Well scoob, there is always some room at the top of the tank But I assume your experienced in this then?

I just know that the more air the better it burns, so 1/4-1/2 a tank is best so that the gas can build up and when it ignites you get a bigger bang

It's getting fixed anyway, made a phone call, had the mechanic on the other side, put the phone to the engine and he said it definitely doesn't sound good, so it's going to get shipped away again tommorrow...for how long this time, is the question? 4 weeks? 5! 6!? gee...

HHHMMM things you should have realised about the city fly when you brought it.

1) Its not meant to be fast and 2) Its not made to be racing cars on

The city fly is a good little bike when your properly, and after 12,000 ish miles mines still running sweet as a daisy, its needed *1* new chain, and an innertube.

Original stuff on the bike that im quite suprised about, tyres, sprocket, rear drum shoe. If you look after the thing and dont thrash the tits off it like you do it will last you a good while longer.
My City Fly was my first bike and i love the thing which is the reason i brought it back after selling it *twice*.

Reckoned if I bought a 2 stroke it would just give me no end of problems and expense. But I showed him and went for the cagiva.

But the point is I've changed my mind, I agree with Andrew- the cityfly would be a great first bike, as long as you realise that you'll want something else in under a year. But you will anyway won't you.

im buying a 125 soon and although the cityfly would be a more sensible buy, the nsr's and the rs' look so much nicer and more fun.
