After a fairly crappy Christmas and New Year spent in pain and on crutches I finally received some good news today!

I got a phone call this morning from the guys insurance company to inform me that they had sent a letter to my solicitor admitting liability, and that they want to send someone to inspect the bike tomorrow Very Happy

I then called my solicitor who told me that as soon as they get the letter, they can make an interim payment for the value of the bike plus any proven losses quite quickly. The payment for my injuries will take longer, but I can live with that Thumbs Up

So, anyone know any good sites to look for bikes (other than Bike Trader or EGay).

Probably and almost certainly (unless we can get her an X Raptor).

The bike hq site, that is a sticky in the for sale section, lets you register what youre interested in then mails you if one comes up. Its not a huge site yet though I think.

Well the guy came this morning to have a look.
'Bloody hell, that's the worst damage I've seen to a bike in ages - Definate Cat B that one!' were his exact words when he saw it. Laughing

He took a few photos and buggered, promising me he would call me soon with an offer (yeah right!). Much to my surprise I received a phone call from him at 16:00 offering me £3700 and we can keep the bike.

So I umm'd and ahh'd over it for about 3 milli seconds before accepting. He told me the cheque will be in the post by the end of the week - result!

Now there is just the matter of getting the money for all my equipment, lost pay and other out of pocket expenses. Not to mention the compensation for 4 broken bones in my ankle Confused

Nice one hippy, I hope the rest of the process goes as smoothly. I am currently looking at a cat D sprint with some road rash so may be seeking the advice of mrs hippy on disguising the same shortly Smile.
