"Yesterday, the UK's weekly Motorcycle News paper invited a number of Ducati 916/996/998 and 999 owners to test ride the brand new Ducati 1098 for a comparison article. The offer was extended to members of the UK's Ducati Sporting Club.

As luck would have it, all was going well for about the first hour, until a small lowside incident resulted in a crash damaged 1098! Read more about the invite from MCN and the incident itself over at the Ducati Sporting club website.

And here's what could be the first crashed Ducati 1098 now looks like....."

looks to me like a crash bung might have saved it, but i guess that would have spoiled the look for the photo shoot

Wonder how much the panels cost to replace Shocked

By the way, slightly off topic but how the hell do you get the chain off if it is interlinked through the swingarm? (if that even makes sense)...

Same way as you do with the majority of other chains which are looped through some bit of the chassis - by splitting it.

Screw the why's and wherefore's.

Am I the only one thinking:

I'll take it off Ducati's hands for a nice discount and an early delivery! Mr. Green

Oh dear. It had to happen sonner or later.

I was recently looking at the glossy pics in BIKE magazine and thinking that some poor sod is going to drop one of those.

I bet he went as red as the bike. At least it wasn't his. Thumbs Up

Not quite the same thing, is it now?

One's a big red thing with an agrigultural engine and causes chaos wherever it goes....

.....and the other is a bus.

its a huge difference so i wonder which is true
oh and it lost the roll ons to the zx10 which is slower in roll ons than the gsxr1000 Razz
