IMO I dont care, BB it just a pile of crap now. But if that person being targeted were to say somethings about us 'whites' nothing would be done anyway. BC!

It is definitely bullying, and it is definitely racist. Not in an obvious calculating way, but just moronic single braincell 'celebs' spouting stereotypical nonsense.
The so called glamour model goes on about how 'Indians eat with their hands' in a derogitary way, whilst forgetting about sandwiches, chips, pizzas...
They mimic her accent... not really racist, but definitely unpleasant in context.


They are just thick idiots, whose career will hopefully take a downturn when they emerge.

Considering how much the media has blown this up I've yet to hear a single racist remark from the BB house broadcast on the news or anywhere else.

So far it seems not liking someone and saying so is now deemed racist?

Not that's extreme by any means, but it's racial stereotyping, which is a form of racism.
Making fun of, and bullying her and using her race as part of that - how is that not racist?

I doubt they mean to be racist (unlike certain 'political' groups), but because of their intense ignorance and sheer stupidity, they are being so.

But I would say that the bullying itself is far worse than the fairly low level of racism.

As far as I can tell it's been blown all out of proportion because people in the house don't like her and she's Indian.

So far on the news all I've seen is asking if it was Indians or Chinese that ate with their fingers. As I don't watch such shit TV I've got nothing to go on bar what the news shows and so far that's fuck all.

Watched a bit tonight to see what the fuss was about, yeah I'd give that Shilpa a good seeing too, or is that being sexist. Anyway seems to me that its just publicity to whip up publicity for a crap show.
Shilpa obviousley a big bollywood star back home and bought up in the cast system, unlike Jade who bought up in the gutter (by a dog).

What’s even more worrying is Jade is representing today’s Britain with a Cockney and Scouser cum bucket.

Why is it everyone is so surprised by this, why all the fuss, is it because Shilpa is Indian royalty in a way, or is it just a case of ‘Shit happens’ welcome to the real world?

If Shilpa feels the things that were said and done were 'racist' then they were racist, whether or not that was the initial intention.

it's all good and well the perpetrator saying 'I didn't mean it like that'; if they didn't mean that, then they should admit they were wrong and find a more sensitive way to phrase things in the future.

The same goes for anyone in any situation. it doesn't matter what the intention was, if the effect is one of the 'victim' feeling bullied, abused and upset, then those comments should not have be made.

Some have said that calling her 'the indian' isn't racist. If she is referred to as 'the indian' and that offends her, then they should take that on board, not defend that it 'isn't racist'.

In a way yes, but IMO pointing the finger at the bully and calling them racist is taking it quite far, before you know if the person really did mean it in that way or not.

It's never been said to Shilpa directly, i think Jades mum called her that because she can't talk properly. We all know if you were called 'The brit' in a situation you'd see nothing but stating the obvious.

As much as i dislike Jade, there's no real defense once racist has been said, this has to be dealt with correctly.
