 |
|
Been getting some completly crazy insurance quotes for an FZ6, first site I tried was Carole Nash and they have been the cheapest so far via Axa Insurance UK.
Its worrying me that this quote is nearly a third of other quotes, I definately have all the correct details in just need to know if they cover Northern Ireland as well as mainland UK?
Any help would be greatly appreciated folks, thanks!

Hi
Different legal system makes things marginally more complicated. However the main thing is that claims tend to be far high over there. Claim amounts used to be decided by a jury, so wave an injury at them and they would happily give a large payout as it was only an insurance company paying.
That stopped decades ago, but the claims still stayed high.
When I moved from NI to the mainland in 1987 my insurance went down to a third of what it had been. When I was 17 my mainland quotes for basic tpft on a Mini (group 1 insurance on the old groupings) was £95, whereas the same cover in NI was £450.
All the best

Tony Blair just doesn't want anything to do with us
He's more worried about tackling the rest of the world rather than helping out a bit in Northern Ireland, although it is true we have dug our own hole. ____________________ Kawasaki Z1000 '05

That's very true Kawakid, and it's bloody annoying! They can fail you on the smallest thing, but one good thing about it is, for some things they give you a 30-day grace period to get the problem sorted, then if you bring it back within those 30 days they just issue the cert, but if it's anything major, you have to bring the car away, get the problem fixed, then pay for another NCT!! Nice money-making system for the government! They're talking about bringing it in for bikes soon too! ____________________

That I don't know for sure (I've only been with them since getting my full licence) but they never asked me for any documents, not even a copy of my licence, just asked me a load of questions, told me how much and insured me! ____________________

This is the only semi relevant quote i could find
My bike has been modified; will you be able to provide cover?
This depends on the modifications that have been carried out. Please contact our Bike Insurance Department with the full details, on 0800 804 7952. Alternatively, Irish policyholders should call 1800 298 550.
You can email them direct with this link and ask
https://www.carolenash.com/contact_us/contact_us.asp
i have never waited more than ten hours for a reply and it was overnight ____________________ Check out our tackle shop on Facebook:

That number is for callers from the Republic, Sam - I'd say Bazza would just have to call the 0800 number! ____________________
