As I described in a recent post, I binned my last bike (an SV650) on Sunday thanks to a German HGV driver cutting across me on a roundabout and flattening my ride. Luckily I bounced back up and went to berate the driver (whose first words were 'No police! No police!!'. Bike was bent as it was wedged underneath the wheels of the trailer and is probably a write off (it certainly looked it but just waiting to have official confirmation from insurance).

Anyway, enough rambling. I always wanted an S4 but was eventually tempted by the SV as I wanted new (my first bike) and new S4s were impossible to get. Well, I found one today, an 05 model in Neon Blue with radiator cowl, belly pan and pillion seat cover. It has only 500 miles on the clock.

Obviously I am going to buy it (have already place a deposit), but I just wanted to know if there were any major differences between '05 and '06' models.

Apologies if this has been covered before. I did a search but didn't find anything.

As far as I am aware there are no differences in the 05 and 06 Speed Four. They are both the last model with that engine in.

The new one with the 675 engine should be out shortly! Laughing

... but you should really go for a Speed Triple 1050 instead!!! Wink Thumbs Up

Well, I have comprehensive insurance so my bike gets paid for regardless of fault.

But the witness heard him saying that he didn't want the police involved and when the police arrived he made a statement to that effect. Seems like the insurance people are pretty certain they will be able to prove his liability.

I will wait for confirmation before I jump to conclusions, however. But at least I know my bike loan will be paid off leaving me free to get the S4. Which I intend to keep for longer than 5 months. Hopefully.
