Today I was cleaning burnt on crap off the inside of a piston that I had cooked hill climbing by filling it with small nuts and bolts and shaking it for quite a long time. I now have a nice clean piston and a wrist like a balloon that hurts like hell.
I may never wank again. Sad

I once wondered if the downpipes on a single cylinder 125 would be hot after 15 seconds with the engine running. The blister on the end of my index finger told me that they were in fact very hot indeed. Embarassed

Got my right hand stuck between the frame and the engine on a 1990 AF1 125 while trying to get the carb float bowl off, took lots of washing up liquied and force to get it free. Laughing

Well done. Possibly not the most stupid though, I'm probably a contender there after bruising my hip and wrenching my right knee when I zipped my beard into my jacket as I stepped onto the bike. Totally lost track of what I was doing as my chin began to hurt and just over stepped, went over the far side of the bike and took it over with me. Ended up laying in a heap on a BP forecourt with a ZZR1100 on top of me. Not my "coolest" biking moment Neutral

I dislocated my shoulder, when bump starting my old bike in second gear, after running out of fuel. Ouchy.

Remember kids, its best to bump start a bike when sitting on it...

If you'd run out of fuel, surely bump starting isn't going to make any difference? ^_^

Just the usual forgetting the exhaust gets rather hot and burning myself.. nothing exciting.

^^ I done that^^ except a bee hit me at 40, stuck in my lid for about 200 yds, then stopped to find it investigating my ear lug.

wasn't sure what to do but my heart was racing and i was terrified, then i shook my head, and it flew off, i just hoped the liddle bastid hit the windscreen of the wagon it headed toward Twisted Evil

*Waits for that guy to post picture of his missing finger*

I've burnt my fingers on exhausts, dropped bike on myself [many times], caught my leg on the kickstart of my old NS125, burnt my finger on a bulb, got a shock from HT cables, crashed and I'm sure i've done many more.

We're bikers, we are clumsy. Wink

What about 'slip and gouge'?

Thats when your tightening a nut/bolt, then you realise that if the spanner was to slip, you'ld punch that oily piece of thread/stud protruding from yor machine.
But you keep on tightening the nut/bolt nonetheless, and you feel the spanner moving in an awkward manner.
You can imagine the blood running down your knuckles.
Then it happens, you 'slip and gouge' a large chunk of skin from your hand. And the worst thing is, your working in the cold, the low temperature deadens the pain slightly, but seems to prolong it while you inspect the bloody oil dripping from your digits.

Tell me you've never done that. I have, and I never learn.

And the winner is. Embarassed

At the tender age of 16 I managed to chop the ends of my fingers off.

At the time I had a Puch Maxi moped Cool and was changing the chain and sprockets. The front sprocket is held in place by a circlip on either side of the sprocket. Whilst replacing the sprocket I maneged to break one of them so thought it would be a good idea to just fit the outer one and then run the bike on it's stand and put my hand on the inside run of the chain and see if the front sprocket would move enough to make the chain jump.

The results. (these are my fingers 16 years later.)

Ran out of petrol, ended up pushing the bike for quite a long way. Lost concentration and balance, the bike started to go over away from me. Tried to hold it but couldn't, and in the process tripped over the bike stubbing my toe and grazing my shin (Younger days wearing only jeans..tut) Still had another mile or so to go to the petrol station, limping and embarrassed because quite a few people saw me and laughed!

Similar to.................... can't remembers earlier:

Outside Tescos, i put the stand down, only it popped back up without me realising. I step out and the bike kept going - trapping my leg underneath - 3 passers by had to lift it off me. Embarassed
