Celebrity Definition

'A celebrity is a fellow human being who is better than you because lots of people know who they are. Everyone loves celebrities. Celebrities themselves are rarely evil. Several have talent worth celebrating. Curiously, this is rarely discussed in media coverage, which instead concentrates on how fat their thighs are in order to make regular people, driven to the brink of despair by their adulation of celebrities, feel momentarily better about themselves, and sufficiently robust to stave off suicide long enough to digest further celebrity coverage.

Any member of the public who voluntarily pays to read magazines stuffed with candid photographs of celebrities walking down the street clutching shopping bags is suffering from an acute form of mental illness that hasn’t been diagnosed yet, but surely will if there is an atom of hope left in the world, because a civilian flipping through Heat in their lunch break is the human equivalent of a cow being stunned by a captive bolt pistol prior to slaughter - except the cow, at least, dies for a purpose.'

That Jo was on GMTV this morning.

She was crying, shaking and rocking abckwards and forwards, suffering a 'trauma' from how she has been perceived to be by the public and receiving death threats and putting on a sob story about how she only went on there to try and save her house which is in danger of being reposessed.

It doesn't take and idiot to work out that if you want to save your career you have to put your self across as a nice person when in the publics view. Getting involved in a girly gang run by jade goody was never going to do her career any favours, surely this is obvious?

I fail to see the point of going on tv saying how sorry you are crying wither, the public will be glad she's suffering for her actions, it amazes me how because she's a celebrity she thinks afew tears will make everyone forgive her.

Has there been any word from the other 2 involved since big brother on their actions or anything?

Well Jade started crying on BBLB appeard on The Wright Stuff saying how she had her windows smashed & how she plans to visit India (yer because that makes it better how?) She was also kind enough to do an interview for free, giving the £50,000 to charity. What's 50k tho when you're a millionaire?
& Danielle got dumped by teddy, apparantly.

I think Jade has had it a bit rough to be honest.
I don’t like Jade and how she got on TV, but this is taking it a bit far.
She doesn’t deserve violent attacks of any kind.

Shilpa has a good head on her, she’s above Jade and didn’t see her as offensive.

Jade's too thick to be racist. I'm sure if shilpa was white the rest of the house mates attitudes wouldn't have changed about her. There would be just as much fighting and name calling except you couldn't bring racism into it.

ok i'v just watched the entire argument over the oxo cube shit that pretty much started the whole series of outside racist shit off.

i have to say a big round of applause should go to the tabloid "newspapers" for blowing the entire thing out of proportion and causing ALL of this.
there was little to no racism in that, just jade being the complete bumbling moron that she is.

the daniele/jo laughing thing? i tell you what, i'd probably have pissed myself with laughter at seeing that if i was in there. as would anybody. who doesn't laugh when someone they don't really know, or even someone they do gets so worked up about nothing?

so yes, thanks to the sun, the mirror, and other similar sources of news for misquoting people and causing an international problem of some peoples' dislike of one person.
as of course, if they're not the same colour/religion as you, it's tantamount only to racism.
