Is there a regulation for Emergency Services (well, Police and Paramedic/Ambulance) for the "completeness" of the decals on their vehicles?
I passed a car with the fluorescent markings on the back, and it had the blue & red strip light on the top, but that was it. I always thought that they either had to be totally marked or unmarked? ____________________ TiN

There's a few police (or so I believe them to be) vehicles around here that are completly white apart from twin blue lights on the roof |

Funny you should say that, I saw a plain white fiesta with blue lights on roof flashing going down a sliproad on way back from BdB with Craig, can't remember where it was tho, think it was on the M40. Didn't see the point in having it unmarked if it's got big blue lights on the roof |

Well a blue light on the roof (when it's off) its a lot less obvious than it being covered in fluro orange and yellow. Thus I assume they are more likely to catch people, but I also don't see why they don't just go for the complete unmarked apperance? |

They are all either marked or unmarked round here.
Its kind of stupid, because there are two jaguar bacon units.
One of them , obviously a police car , registration Y351GHP
Then there is a black unmarked one, same car Y352GHP
Not too obvious hey?
And there is a black civic going around.
Got pulled today by 351GHP. 2nd time pulled in a week for stop checks.
Oh and he told me, i was wearing a t shirt and trousers.
He said , if i came off at 30mph, i would loose 1mm of skin per 1 foot i travelled on the road, chances are i would slide up to 6 - 10 feet.
Come off at 60 - 70 he says i would need skin grafts, not to mention the pain you would be in having the grit and dust scrubbed and washed out of the wounds.
Makes you think...

I wouldn't say that, i fell off my pushrod doing 33mph one arm landed on the rough part of the road and the other on the smooth (worn) part of the road, my right arm is messed up on the elbow and is scarred for life, my left one is healing slowley and is mainly friction burns. plus i shattered the cartlage (sp?) in both elbows which sucks, doctor recons it will be like that for ages......
anybody who has had nasty injuries to their legs or arms>> did you ever have to put that gause with grease over the wound?? it hurt like hell when i had to remove it cos it fused to the wound!
about the cars, i may be wrong here but i know that the top brass and other high ranking officers in the police get cars which are usaually unmarked apart from blue lights on top or placed in the grill, so they can get somewhere quick if they are needed. I have a friend who was an ex-sergent in the police, his boss had a BMW with blue lights on the roof so he could get to serious scenes if he was needed otherwise the car was used to get to and from meetings ____________________ A scientist crossed a skunk with an owl.
