Hey,
I recon best bet is to have a look at stuff you can change without much effort, that way you are (in my opinion more likely to keep it off.
Try substituting stuff, like instead of chocolate etc eat fruit, or try smaller quantities.
Another thing to try is to use the stairs rather than lifts and to park as far away from the door as possible - little things add up.
Anyway, dont know if this is any good, more stuff that ive done which has worked for me.
Good Luck ____________________ long time pillion, newbie rider. |

I would do it purely to see how much poo comes out. Try popping a pack of Mentos up first, and using diet coke instead of water ____________________ Current: CB500 Previous: CB100N, CB250RS, XJ900F, GT550, GPZ750R/1000RX, AJS M16, R100RT, Enfield Bullet

If you just want to loose weight and not actually tone any muscles etc, then the best thing to do is look at your diet and do something simple and not 'muscle building' for exercise.
Typically the diet just involves stopping all those snacks. Ever wondered why those fizzy drinks with 'diet' in front of them are called that? It's got nothing to do with nutritional content. You could drink all the normal coke in the world and the only side affect would be a sore stomach and no teeth. The idea is to FILL YOU UP WITH CO2. If ever you are feeling hungry quickly gulp down a glass of fizzy drink. You will feel full and won't need to eat - thats how it's supposed to be used as part of a dietary plan
Second, buy a load of apples. If you absolutely must eat something have one of them. They are not fatterning at all, take a bit of time to eat and require lots of jaw action - which after enough movement is one of the 'signals' that tells your body you are 'full'. Try chewing gum aswell - After 1000 odd chews you won't be so hungry and it will carry you through to your next meal.
Strange as it may seem eat normal sized meals. Don't skimp. Obviously reduce the amount of fat such as chips etc. Eat a LARGE cereal breakfast. This stops you eating snacks later on. It also provides a valuable source of Fibre and if you like milk, Calcium.
Eat you evening meal a bit later, say 8/9pm. This reduces the chance of you eating a snack before going to bed.
With the diet under control the exercise now need only be a simple calory burning affair. That could could be as simple, and as little, as walking for a mile or two a day. Wrap up warmly, stick in some earphones with an mp3 player and off you go.
You won't gain any muscle this way or have a toned body, but you will stay at the correct weight for your height. |

Some of the advice was good, some was not.
Do not eat after 9pm. Preferably 8 if you can help it. The food will just be stored in your body throughout the night while your laying idle in bed. You dont sound too heavy for your height really mate. I can give you a little help. Watch what you eat, chocolate, sweets, fatty foods ect. Eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. Try not to have snacks, just think to yourself 'i dont need it.' You dont really need to have 4+ meals a day as some advise, because your not really doing any high intensity work. Do some weights whenever you can. Try and make yourself go for runs. Do pressups, situps, burpees, pullups, anything you can think of while your just sitting there in the day pondering what to do. You will get results at the end of this. But you have to put the effort in. Good luck, and let us know how you get on!
Rezzin.

A fun way to lose weight!
You need to either find something active you enjoy or really watch what you eat. Some people pannick and start cutting out breakfast etc you shouldnt do that. You need to eat to get your body going. Also I believe if you miss meals etc your body thinks you are starving and anything you then eat is stored as fat for emergencies.
Try to eat better food more often and cook meals from scratch. Just try to eat better generally and as someone else mentioned dont eat after 8 because your body will just store it over night.
You could do some sort of martial art? I know some arent that active but regularly it would be good for you and you might enjoy it. You'll be busy doing that instead of snacking. Its not contact like boxing, what about kick boxing? |

Although you may have taken what i said as a joke, it was only half that.
Sex can be four times as much exercise as riding a bicycle
And if you don't want to get beat up box with a punch-bag.
I myself am trying to just shift some but no joy, even doing 50km on the exercise bike every few days (upped the mp3's to a film and get a sore arse) and sortin my diet out and im not losing any weight(i think-must check actually), im going to work on my sleep next.
I would say, 3 meals a day>by routine, if you must snack eat fruits and seeds, you can eat a pack of seeds to replace things like crisps keep calorie intake to the 2500 or less.
8 hours of sleep a day(i know its difficult i still cant manage it)
Minimum of an hour a day cardio, be it walking or gym work.
I find chewing gum makes me hungry so i wouldnt advise it myself.
Water is a BIG thing, drink 2 litres a day and stay AWAY from fizzy drinks, they bloat your stomach and expand it.
Drink tea without milk or sugar, green and red(rooibos) teas are better but black tea will do, rich in anitoxidants that are claimed to help with metabolism same thing as water flushes out water retention, you will be in the bathroom every 5 minutes but it will change the more you do it and they can replace the crap stuff.
Last thing, dont try them all at once, you will fail if you do, add another into the mix every week and dont expect instant results but when you do start to notice you will feel a LOT better.
Before doing all this you are supposed to see a gp.
All the best and good luck  ____________________ Past -Honda qr50 | 2004 Peugeot Tkr s 50| | 1996 Yamaha XJ600s Diversion|| 2005|Kawasaki Z750s | | 2006 Yamaha FZ6 Fazer |

Right, first things first. I am 5 foot 8 and 13 stone 8lbs.
This means I have a BMI of 29 and I am 2 stone overweight.
Last Sunday I was 13 stone 10.
I now do 30 minutes EVERY day on the exercise bike at the gym and I am already feeling the difference, have had to up the level of difficulty on the bike from level 10 to level 12 and I am burning about 300 calories every day. So I lost 2lb in one week last week. This was with a normal diet.
I am now doing a specific 2 week diet of calorie intake less than 1000 a day, coupled with this exercise and my jeans are already starting to fit better.
TBH, this isn't going to be a short term thing for me. I'd be happy to lose a pound a week and in 28 weeks time, about July. I would ideally be slim again.
One thing that quitting smoking taught me was that to make change you have to be prepared for improvements to happen slowly and I am now prepared for it to take a long while to be at my ideal weight. I aim to be under 12 stone by Christmas. Not unrealistic really. ____________________ Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it.
