Eyebrow Piercing + Bike helmet, a bad combo? Yes/No.

Thinking of getting my eye brow pierced (Yeah yeah whatever Smile ) but worried about the implications on my mass use of my bike.

Yes

However, eyebrow piercing, a pram (preferably filled with a child of unknown fatherage) and an underage girlfriend will go together nicely. Tracksuits all round. Thumbs Up

EDIT - what's "mass bike use"? That when you get on it with 15 of your mates at the same time (and you don't really own it do you... Wink)

I have a fixed number of holes in my body. None of them interfere with my helmet.

Possibly phrased wrong then if thats the impression I gave Smile, basically I use my bike daily and dont want to prance around a piercing for months on end with nothing but bother with it.

I have an eyebrow piercing and it's never once caused me any problems with my helmet in the slightest.

Though I did have it put in over a year before I started riding bikes so it was fully healed and I was used to not tearing it.

When I first had it put in I used to always catch it... on my hands, on towels, clothes, and it HURTS (especially when it's new and tender).

I'd imagine that it would possibly be the same with a helmet.. chances are you WILL catch it and it WILL hurt (a lot!) but once you get used to it you won't even notice it.

I have both cheeks pierced and my lip twice and had no problems. Admitadly when my cheeks were first pierced with very long jewellery it was a bit of a pain in the ass! But you wont need long jewellery in an eyebrow piercing due to virtually non-existant swelling. If you wear a bar in it you will be even less likely to catch it.

Also depends on what type of hemet you have.

Apart from that Id say the same as others have said. If you want it get it done (I would say that, I love piercings!), yes you will catch it sometimes but its no biggy and once healed it'll be even less of a problem. My partner had his bridge and many other piercings and biking never stopped him getting them.

Go for it. Thumbs Up

I had a rook piercing that grew out and plopped into the bath one day due to helmets. Which was nice.

Yep thats the helmit I was thinking of! I wanted a flip front before I got my cheeks done, would have been helpful at the time and Im sure would be good for the eyebrow piercing.

Rooks is ace but fiddly, I had one years ago. Such a snug piercing but my jewellery kept falling out and I couldnt get my fingers in there myself to get the jwellery back in! So threw the jewellery in a bin in a temper at a london coach station! Wish I hadnt because it was a great piercing. An even better one is a 'daith' though. I had one but couldnt heal it. (Story of my life.. Sad )

I have a nipple peircing and it doesnt bother me, wouldnt recommend getting your eyebrow done, altho my mate has one and he has no problems.

Probably depends on your lid, how fat your head is and how clumsy you are..

Much as I hate the be the one wading in with a scare story, here I come...

My mate had his eyebrow pierced for about 3 years before he got a 'ped. It was fully healed, but one day, when taking his helmet off normally, it got caught and ripped out.

There was blood everywhere and he was in a lot of pain.

Still has a rather noticeable scar where it used to be. I know, I know, chicks dig scars, but this one just looks rather foolish...

Maybe it was a one off freak accident kinda thing, but I just thought I'd share...

...Ouch

I'll be less cocky in future taking my helmet off... I do tend to whip it out.. er I mean off in 2 or 3 seconds.

I have a 11 additional holes in by body including both eyebrows.
I do catch the from time to time when puttiny my helmet on but am yet to snag em when taking it off.

Now thats its happended a few times Im aware of it and make sure I take my time when puting my lid on.

Id say go for it, Ive never caught them enough to think they would come out.

I had an eyebrow peircing, which I just took out before christmas. I had it done a good while ago and I liked it but it never really healed properly. I think taking a helmet on and off everyday can't of been good for it.
Also, every single time you get dressed you have to be careful not to catch it, you can't just pull a jumper on in a hurry. Plus every time I was doing anything physical I worried about it getting ripped out. Its a constant pain in the ass.

If you really want it go for it, but for me in the end it was just too impractical and alot more hassle than its worth Thumbs Up

ive had my eye brow piercing for four years now and never had a problem with my lid pull on it etc.

Only things that used to be a problem were jumpers etc for the first time once i had it done but you get used to it, plus i can tug and pull the piercing without it hurting in the slightest now.

Just be carefull the first few times and if your not you will soon learn to be Thumbs Up

It's not MY body that I want to pierce with sharp objects, but that of people who cut me up whilst on their mobile phones.
