Its windy as hell again here today, nothing like thursday, but still pretty bad. We lost our compost bin in thursdays storm, I've got the base, the lid & the front flap, but the actual bin itself has dissapeared. I went looking round the area on thursday lunchtime and i'm mystified. All the fence panels are in place so the bin has been blown at least 6 ft into the air to clear them, then it must have been blown to the end of the alley and god knows where after that. I went out in the car later and saw loads of fence panels missing from gradens, quite a few tree's are down, Our dentist's receptionist had her car damaged by falling slates.
Other than the compost bin we seem to be ok. Anyone else had any damage or seen anything serious?

Our car park, and many of the cars therein are now strewn with lettuce, cabbage, celery, carrots, potatos, apples, oranges etc.

Any suggestion that this is related to the fact that in the winter we keep our fruit and veg out on the balcony to save fridge space, and you can speak to my lawyers. Embarassed

This happened not far from my house. I drove past and from where I was it looked someone had stuck the front end from a car onto a pile of bricks.

NCAP or EuroNCAP stands for European New Car Assessment Programme. From Wikipedia...

Quote:
EuroNCAP publishes safety reports on new cars, and awards 'star ratings' based on the performance of the vehicles in a variety of crash tests, including front, side and pole impacts, and impacts with pedestrians.

Aha. I guess they no one thought to include top impact. The bricks fell at least 30 ft from the top of this building. Its lucky no one was in the car.

Apparently so. Maybe they thought the insurance payout would be better if they had a fiesta??

I was at our dentists the day of the storm, and while we were there some slates fell from a roof and landed on the receptionists car, smashing her windows and doing quite a bit of damage down one side of the car. She was understandably pissed off about it, but seemed to have it in her head that storm damage was "an act of god" and would not be covered by insurance.
