i wouldnt call a police person i didnt know a pig, but i tend to think if i did know them, they wdnt give a shit

the policeman i know, was far more rude about policeman before he joined up. "utter wankers" or similar was how he referred to them after various fuckups.

one of these fuck ups, he now thinks was a serious neglect of duty, as he is in the know about police procedure these days

and if they were the type who did worry about that sort of thing, i doubt id have much to say to them anyway, other than chill out

i wd never call a fat person a pig tho, as that wd be just wrong, even if it was more accurate. i cant think of any fat ppl who wdnt mind be called a pig. so if i knew a fat policeman, i wdnt call him a pig, even if i thought he might not mind

Perhaps they're just being ironic, in the same way as some black people call each other 'niggers'? Doesn't mean it's OK for others to use that term, though.

Your so completely and utterly full of shit. Its an abusive term, intended to offend and mock the police, used by crims generally... why should public servants have to put up with abuse and disrespect from jobless cunts like you.
At least earn the right to an opinion you vaccuous hole.
Calling police scum/pigs etc, cant be justified by them doing you for having no insurance or whatever it was.

All those people that claim Police officer's are fine toward's you if your doing nothing wrong have yet to experience the otehr side in my opinion.

If I walk around my estate with a hood up in any weather and a Police car goes past it will slow down to see what I'm upto, regardless that I havent done anything, it is merely due to the slightly iffy estate I live on.

You do get good and bad in every form of job, however in my experience the Police response has been slow, unhelpful and not very forthcoming, I beleive due to the area.

My family, and most of the people I know who live on the estate, now no longer bother contacting the Police unless it's a very large problem as it isnt worth the hassle.

I should imagine this is a similar story for people all over the country on council estate's.

what an immature comment Thumbs Down, everybody that has a job has a downside, if someone(random) doesn't like a certain person just because of their profession, the phone in your hand is not glued to your ear, put it back down....

as for the topic, my personal view of officers, are:

they can be 'too quick off the gun', yet a lot of the people in that particular profession are very hard working, caring people, and if some immature minded minority wants to have a rant at them cos they are 'earning an honest buck' then what would you say if cnfronted by that person in the street (i.e, on a level playing field?)
rant over, soz about the length!

Hahaha.
Makes me laugh when im called a pig, like what do people gain from it?
Ive seen people arrested for calling a colleauge a pig.
Personally im not so bothered, its when they start throwing their arms and legs at me that i get bothered.
Then they get nicked
And i get my compensation
But thats not the point.
Most of the people that use the term are teenagers willy-waving in front of their friends trying thier luck. They're not big or clever.
It doesnt insult me, or make me change how i deal with a person at all. But somehow makes it more satisfying as they take thier ticket or the bracelets go on.
I get more "Cor your a bit young to be a copper!"

I usually refer to the police as cops, pigs, or the fuzz.

These three I use because you know what I’m talking about, pig maybe offensive to a copper but sticks and stones and all that.
I’ve had far worse dealt to me by my local plod, if calling a copper ‘pig’ is enough for kind of words given out here, I should walk past every officer I see and stamp on his shoes for what they’ve put me through.

Be grateful some of you have had good experiences being a victim of crime.

The more experiences you have with them, often you’ll develop cute nicknames for them similar to the ones in this thread.

And to Johnny, Dan, and even Mr James, anyone of us could be in a pub, see a chap with immaculate hair, a pink vest with crocodile shoe’s, turn to your mate and say “Look at that prick” you don’t get anything from it expect maybe a giggle.

I don't understand how the Police can put up with some of the derogatory comments that come out of some the uninformed scum of this forum sometimes.

To all the people who call the Police "Pigs", I bet you wouldn't call a black member a "nigger" randomly would you? I doubt you'd say it in the street either.

If you want to flame a Policeman, you should not expect any moral right to be protected by the force that do more than you so unwittingly know about. Yes some ethics are bad, i.e speed gunners, but at the end of the day The Police do not make the laws, they just make sure they are obeyed. If you want to offend someone because of the laws that are made in the UK, aim it at parliament.

Fools. Rolling Eyes

What difference does it matter it's to members on here, not on duty.

Myself and others on here are on the recieving end of loads of abuse, and it's usually because of a re-post or something someone finds a bit silly.

I think you're talking nonsence

And as for being racist, well that's something different.

Now you are talking utter nonsense.

How is offending someone because of their race so much more morally wrong than a lifestyle choice? Fair enough the Policemen and women chose to take up that profession, but only to protect the citizens and to make sure their families have a roof over their heads and food on the table.

Just saying racism is different to an abusive comment.

And no, i'm not talking nonsence, everyone takes abuse, how they take it is up to them. Only an officer knows for sure if he deserves it.

I don't see why you'd have a go at someone for doing their job.

If you've got a problem, be pissed at the people higher up who are telling them what to do.

That’s cute Tobes, but from the sounds of that comment, you’ve dealt with a few NIP’s, or watched them load a helpless drunk into a van, and see nothing wrong with the police.

When you’ve dealt with them too often, out on the streets, or dealing with your stolen property, and trust me, this has nothing to do with someone higher up…..you’d feel the same as the members who express their disappointment with their forces.

I call people from the council a bunch of cunts, because of how they deal with young people like me trying to live and eat, and how they treat me on the phone when I ask them about a small problem with the roads in my area.
I don’t call my police force that…yet…but calling them pig’s is nothing IMO.

I've got to say I agree that the name used for any policeman needs to be decided on a copper to copper basis.

99 times out of 100 (young lads in cars get a lot of hassle too...) I've had no issue with the police, they've always dealt with me pretty fairly, and I've been let off a few things that I probably should have lost my license for.

The reason for this is that I'm always polite and reasonable when dealing with them. And I don't mean in the snivelling, grovelling sense, I mean I treat them as I would any other person who I meet in their or my professional capacity, as a human being not dissimilar to myself.

My opinion of them has also been raised by the fact that in my little village back home, we have a Community Support Officer, who makes a point of coming and seeing how we all are, and generally being cool with us. He's on first name terms with pretty much all the "yutes" in the village, and I can't think of one of them with a bad word to say about him. It's not that he's a soft touch, even those dealt with by him agree that they probably deserved it...

For example, while I was in the back of a police car under caution, being interviewed for a fairly stupid error of judgement, he was sending me some dubious porn over bluetooth from outside the car, while his colleagues pissed themselves laughing...

During this sequence of events I accepted that I had been caught, and that what I had done was foolish. Another guy, caught for an identical offence later that day lost his license and received a hefty fine. I got let off.

The difference? He told them to fuck off, and was generally made their lives difficult. I didn't.

The police, like any organisation, has its fair share of berks, but to generalise the entire police force on these people is a bit harsh.

There are a couple of occasions where I would actively describe a copper as a pig, because he was an arse for one reason or another, but like I said, they're in the minority as far as I can tell.

And as for police cars slowing down to check you out when you're walking around a dodgy estate in a hoody, are you honestly telling me that you wouldn't do the same? I probably would; lets face it, most anti-social crimes (which your estate seems to suffer from) seem to be carried out by people matching your description. Sorry, but they're doing their job there...

Sorry for the rant, but the pig thing does kind of annoy me too...

i dont have anything against telemarketers.i am a telemarketer. I have developed a thick skin for doing my job. Most policemen do the same, and arent bothered by the pig thing.

So because you deal with worse situations, you should have to put up with what is blatantly an offensive term for you? I think not - it would make more sense for people getting a giggle out of calling the police 'pigs' and 'filth' to take a good, long hard look at themselves.

I don't tend to call the police anything other than "Police?" or "Cops", theres no need to choose a name which someone can take offence too

I like to call the local police the

Po'Po

The Fuzz

or

The police (cops)

No need to insult a person doing his/her job!

Unless you get a dick of a traffic cop (once) who has you against his car searching you for drugs. (When it was obvious your on your commute)

"Do you have any sharp objects in your pockets"

What?

You heard me!

Why?

I am serching under the suspision of possation of an ilegal substance

Ermm, no i have not got anything in my pockets!!

*searched me, my bag, asked why i had been speeding etc. then sent me on my way!* It took 35/40minutes for this, he also asked if i had been drinking... did me for sumert like 57 in a 50! Rolling Eyes

I was very pissed because straight after he left he went round the rounderbout as was at the other end of the dual carriage way with his blue lights on (standing outside his car watching me, wtf)

Other than that most of the fuzz are alrigt, sometimes you can get dicks in town on a friday. But you accept that as a cop having a bad night!!!

To be fair, most people carrying naughty things also try to look as though they are 'obviously' on their commute.

If he honestly did have such suspicions, he was quite correct to ask you if you had any sharp objects in your pockets. Why should he put himself at risk? I ask the same thing every time I search someone.

I use "rozzers" when I'm referring to the police. I don't believe it's offensive, but I don't really know where the phrase comes from. If it is derogatory, then I won't use it any more.

The police are like people in general. Well, they are people, but I mean in the broader sense that there are good police and bad police but the bad apples amongst them are far outnumbered by those simply trying to do a worthwhile job in difficult circumstances, a job that I really wouldn't fancy myself. I wouldn't tolerate abuse in the workplace and I don't see why the police should have to either. If one of them caught me speeding then I would consider it a fair cop, but I like to believe we could have a nice chat while he/she was writing out my ticket.

hmm, some interesting points,

It all comes down to common courtesy and respect. Every person here works for a living, and every person in that position should be respected.

I work in IT and help people solve their pc related issues, most of the time I get thanked. I demand some basic common courtesy and most of my clients show this. Hence just like the way I demand some common courtesy and respect, I give that to professionals, regardless of there uniform or powers.

For the record, over the past 2 years I have been stopped on 4 occasions for driving like a madman, as I drive very fast, on 3 of those occasions I was let of which I belive by showing respect and courtesy.

so on that note, act like t.w.a.t and you will get treated like one.
