I finally upgraded my bike , from an imported Kawasaki
ZXR 250 ninja , got a great trade in.

I bought a 2007 Yamaha R6, pull sports pipes fitted and everything.
Looked a treat and sounded mean.

I had it all weekend rode every second i had it , clocked up 500kms in two days. couldnt take the smile off my face. until.

I rode it to work monday morning without any dramas.
Lunch time tought id go home , took the highway home.

I had some fukn twatt overtake me in a single lane ramp , entering
the highway , because i was slowing down to enter cause the traffic was crazy.

this is the letter i wrote to my insurance company to try and
settle things quicker , as i want my bike back or a new one soon.

: (

I was entering the Western Highway, from the Creswick road entrance.
Bound for Miners Rest at approximately 1pm Monday 22nd January 2007.

Upon reaching the entrance to the Highway, I was cut off by another vehicle entering the same highway on the left hand side at approximately 80 kph.

The car came from behind me and was to the left-hand side of the road, I was on the far right awaiting to enter the highway.

Traffic was quite heavy for this time of day and I was being cautious.
The car overtook me on my left hand side at the beginning of the single lane entry of the on-ramp illegally.

I tried to avoid an accident and by turning away from the vehicle, I locked up the back wheel trying to stop, the bike slid from underneath me and threw me off onto the road.

The bike ended up over the kerb on to the grass part of the medium strip between the on ramp and the highway. Whilst I slid down the road some few meters.

At this time the vehicle did not stop, and continued speeding down the highway.

I was not able to see the registration of the vehicle, but vaguely remember a grey late model
Ford before I hit the ground.

About 45 minutes later, I had the motorbike towed by a close family friend on a motorbike trailer and taken straight to Motor Cycle land, being the place of purchase and dealership.

To be assessed for repairs.

: (

Does anyone know how long these things take ?
because i want it so bad.

I was so lucky ! had all my gear on , leather jacket and
draggin kevlar jeans saved my life.

I slid for about 4-5 meters onto the highway.
a second quicker i would have hit the on coming traffic.

Im just so upset and cant think of anything but the bike.

Very sorry to hear mate, sounds like you might be in the US, if insurance companies there are anything like in the UK be prepared for a long drawn-out wait!! I have been waiting over a year for my case to end and it still seems a long way off (different circumstances but just an idea). Good luck with it Thumbs Up

bad luck mate! try giving the police a call, its a criminal offence to leave the scene of an accident if your involved, which it sounds like they were! plus you might need a crime reference number for the insurance claim

I hate cunts that don't stop. And re- the comment about not stopping - it's even more serious as you were injured. I hope they catch him (or her)

I feel bad for you because i'm in the same situation.

My bike just 'slid' down the road, but it's been written off due to costing too much to repair - so what the hell was wrong with it i dont know.......

Lifes a shit due.

Sorry to hear the bad news.

Im in Australia , so hopefully the quotes and assessors are not too slow. ive been on the phone for 3 days straight , calling the motorbike shop to see whats the damage worth and the insurance to try and see when someone is going to give the go ahead to either fix it , or a new one.

Either way im prepared to wait , i just want an answer.

You should have seen the bike , white and red.
Fat back tyre , moded number plate holder , it looked a treat.

It was that new i didnt even get photos of it.

Yeah im just trying to stay positive and not loose my cool.
Because im so angry , just learnt that its not going to
fix or speed up anything. so so shit. like a huge kick in the
guts. Plus ive got minor gravel rash so ive told my mates and people that are asking that the bikes in the shop , because of
a " vibration in second " not that its missing half its bits. : (

Nah you have to get back on dude.
Ive been thinking of just taking the money when and if
the insurance comes thru.

But then you loose the fun , the life and everything else
motorbikes come with.

Dont loose sight of that, im trying real hard not to

Aren't you going to have a hard time claiming if he didn't actually hit you? Or are you claiming on your own policy?

I have the urge to ride again - it's just i cant afford it.

This is the second bike i've had an accident on and that's been written off, so the insurers aren't happy with giving me cheap quotes.

Besides - in 2 years i turn 25 and then the prices will drop (hopefully)

Sorry to hear another biker down, and what a cunt for pulling out.

Did you panic break? When i have locked the back up i just look ahead and (touch wood) so far have managed to correct it, were you cornering?

Why dident you accelerate when theres a car alongside that could swipe you?

Not having a go... Just make sure you learn from your mistakes is all i will say Thumbs Up

i live in Melbourne and spent an entertaining 5 minutes watching a woman reverse her (bent) car into a metal seat on the pavement.

it was about 3 feet in from the kerb.

she just kept ramming it with her car like she was trying to hump it in reverse.

she then pulled forwards, leaving her car half out into the road, got out and tottered into a supermarket.

i had a look round her car and it was fucked. the front was all bashed in, scrapes down the sides.

Sounds like you got one of these, or the like...

morons.

but two tonne motoring morons...

Hey hey people , just got a call from the assessor , and they are waiting on a quote from the motorbike shop on the damage report.

So given that news , if the shop move their ass and get a quote
organised soonish , either new bike depending on cost of damages or repaired one back to fine form.

Yeah ! Laughing

Similar thing happened to me on my Bandit 400. Car driver pulled out on a roundabout, forcing me to make evasive action to avoid him, ended up loosing the front and slid off. Damage done was minimal, was a bit peeved, but didn't claim on my insurance - doubt I could prove much anyway.
