Since moving to Coventry, I have noticed it is a fair bit different to the life I lived back in the Westcountry and suffice to say I have met quite a few different cultures along the way. However there is something I still do not quite understand.

Pretty much EVERYDAY there are a bunch of Asian Rudeboi's in really expensive cars, i'm talking BMW's, Lexus's etc etc. I do not know how they can afford to buy and insure one cause they are only a year or so older than me, however this is beside the point. But why oh why do they need to open their boot and let music play obscenely loud, i'm talking bass that makes your rib cage shatter, even in a body like mine where it is covered in a thin layer of fat. It's anti-social, crap and most annoyingly the music is absolute tripe!

Do they think it's cool? I know it doesn't only apply to that culture, there are plenty of neds that do the same at McDonalds. But I just don't get it. You have a car, then drive it!

Jesus, have a decent sound system in your house or something, least then you will have space in your boot!

P.S Palmers thread on installing speakers did not inspire this thread. A bunch of rudebois in a Volkswagen Golf did. Smile

Thank you and Goodnight.

You need a louder exhaust.

Failing that, do the same except get something insanely heavy (and awful to listen to) and play it. You could also try stage muisc.

You'd have to roll up in your Reliant Robin to make the scene complete though.

Bonus points for the colour of the car being very gay.

They can't do it at home. So they stay out and do it in their cars. Then they get home and their mummies take them by the ear and drag them indoors, telling them off for being so late.

I've been a grumpy old man since about the age of 15 to be honest.

I'd rather they play tunes from their cars, not in their homes, one of them could live next door to you.

It's a competition sort of thing, you got a good sound system with the latest tunes, you're hot......roll up in a MK2 escort blasting out East 17 and you're not.
Simple really, STFU and find something interesting to do.

Its often cars given to them by their uncles, or by their rich daddies.

I knew a few people who fit that description at Uni and my old job and they were usually pretty nice guys, just into a different sort of car to your usual barry boy.

However, to a man they lived with their parents and a lot of extended family, and were extremely hen pecked by their mother, grandmother, aunts etc.

So its a kind of rebellion, but its pretty harmless.

Just put on some classical music. It will cut right through the bass on their music like a knife through butter even on a shitty sound system.

I used this technique to 're-educate' the arts students in the flat below me at college when they kept putting R+B on at 3am when I was trying to study for exams. Speakers flat on the floor, turn the amp up to 11 and let rip.

I recommend either "Mars: Bringer of War" by Holst or "1812 Overture" by Tchaikovsky (see if you can find a 'live' version performed with actual cannon). The two loudest pieces of music in existance, the frequency range means it carries through brick walls as if they aren't there.
